Today we are to use blues & browns for the Free For All Challenge(F4A155) on Splitcoast! This is one of those cards I had sitting on my desktop and didn’t upload to SCS for some unknown reason. Since the colors fit, I figured better late than never!

For my Autumn Lake View card,  I started by stamping the image onto watercolor paper. I used a combination of markers and reinkers to color it. With a paintbrush, I filled in a lake area and some ground around the tree. I stamped a few grassy elements along the ground and used the Micron pen to sketch out the ground, water edge and hill areas. Markers were used to add some fall foliage on the far side of the lake and little blue was added to the sky. I used a lg square Spellbinders die and resized it to cut out the white frame.  A very thin black mat was added behind the frame before attaching to my scene. Finished card measures 5.5 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

And Happy Sunday!

I made this quick and easy Father’s Day card yesterday but didn’t have a chance to post it until today.  I love these little scenic images from Stampendous and recently acquired several of them This one, I think, makes a terrific Dad card and it was so easy to quickly color in with markers.  This is also for one of the Splitcoast VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) challenges, JUN12VSNG, Journey of the Seas.

The card is 5.50 x 4.25 and I wanted a cool font for the sentiment but found I only have a few Father’s Day greetings in my collection, so I computer generated it, trimmed it to size and used a long rectangle die to cut the window.  I used a dot border embossing folder and a stylus to add the raised dots at the bottom.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Father’s Day!

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampendous
Paper: Neenah white
Ink: Ancient Page coal
Accessories: Tombow markers, water brush, Spellbinders long rectangle die, Cuttlebug dot border embossing folder (With Love set), stylus

For my card, I’m on the beach! I wanted a real tropical feel to go along with this fabulous beach scene from Happy Retirement. After stamping, I extended the horizon just a tad with a waterproof ink pen then colored it with a combination of  sponging, markers and water colors.  Highlights were added with a white gel pen. For the frames, I used rectangular dies to cut the inside out of the white frame then lined it with a black pen. The raffia frame is a die cut piece of cardboard wrapped with raffia then a little brown ink was sponged on top. I made one of these years ago and I thought it would be a good accent for this scene. The flower was die cut numerous times then sponged to get the right colors. I added a simple raffia bow behind it. The background paper was stitched together a little haphazardly for a little extra something. The finished card is 5 x 7.
