It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS747) this week & a big congrats to Diane! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the palm trees & birthday theme, but I used different images & dies, left off a layer & skipped the embossing.

For my beachy bday card, I die cut the smaller white panel, then used a large reverse circle mask that left the area w/ the sun open so I could sponge the yellows & orange inks to create my sun. The waves were die cut out of a couple of colors of blue, the palms trees out of brown w/ the fronds from some different scraps of green, then they were pieced together. I hand cut a small island out of the brown to ground the trees  then added the 3 seagulls. To add a little texture to the palm fronds, I took a piercing tool & creased the lines on them. I did the same to the trunks of the trees.

Here’s the inside:

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC808) we’re headed to a Picture Frame place where I found THIS picture. I loved the eagle & thought it would be a great patriotic card.

For my card, I stamped the screaming eagle. This is a 2 part stamp set & the second part is a watercolor type bg that adds color in places to the eagle. Before I stamped the 2nd part, I used some Copics to color in the eagle then used some yellow, red & blue inks on the watercolor part of the stamp & stamped over it. The eagle was loosely fussy cut then I used a watercolor splatter image to add more of the same colors to a white bg. The eagle was popped up on top of the then I added a white deckle frame w/ the USA stamped in red. The stars were all leftovers & I attached them on top of the left side of the frame.

Here are the Copics I used:

A big congrats to Aimeslee, the newest Featured Stamper (FS746) on Splitcoast. She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout (for the most part) & the embossed bg, but I used different dies, colors & a different embossing folder.

For my Father’s Day card, I started by die cutting all the tool in red & mirror silver then putting them together. The jeans pocket & bg are some really old dp I had & it was a little too gray, so I sponged on some blue ink. For the pocket, I cut it first w/ a stitched square then took an angled border die across the bottom. I used a gold gel pen to create the “thread” stitching & added a piece of cardboard under the pocket & tucked the tools inside. The measuring tape is a piece of twill ribbon that I used a red Copic to color. The silver bg was embossed w/ a metal plate folder & I used a dk gray Copic to add some antiquing to it.
