Welcome to Mayl & to the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club May Christmas Challenge! I’m part of the challenge team again this year & the bonus is I’ll have a bunch of Christmas cards finished in plenty of time for Christmas this year. You’ll need to be Fan Club member but that’s easy…just click the blue link to find out how. Bet you’re wondering what the challenge theme is..I’d love to tell you but you’ll have to go see for yourself.
For my Christmas card, I colored & fussy cut the little bear (from a larger image) so I could put him in the driver’s seat of this cute little corvette. After I die cut the pine tree forest & snow hill, I saw there was a bit of green at the bottom of the dp I wanted to use so I colored the corvette mint green. The tiny holly & little bird were fussy cut from a snowman image. I guess since he’s a polar bear, driving w/ the top down in the winter is not a problem!
Here’s the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

A big congrats to Nancy, the newest Featured Stamper! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS to case. I kept the fish theme & layout, but used different images, different dies & a different background technique.
My bg was an accidental creation..I was cleaning the caps of my Copic markers by dropping rubbing alcohol in them then letting it drip out. Well.. no way I could waste the ink, so it’s now a bg. I also added some drops of just the alcohol to get a sort of Bokeh effect. Then I added the colored & die cut fish & starfish. I didn’t have a coral branch like Nancy used, so I die cut a bare tree & used some of it for my coral.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC699), we are headed to At Home. They have a ton of lovely things & I was drawn to THIS picture.
The picture also made me think of some gold tipped white feathers I saw in a craft store a couple of years ago. For the first couple I did, I stamped, gold embossed, fussy cut then swiped the gold ink across the tips & dipped them in the gold powder. They didn’t look quite right to me. So on the rest, after I cut them out, I cut little notches in the tips before inking & dipping. I think that made all the difference. On the white bg, I gold embossed the greeting & used the Splatter Bg just in some areas. I had these mirror gold square frames left from another project, so I used them to add a little interest.
Here’s the inside…everything was gold embossed, as well, & I added a couple of unused feathers from the front.
