I made this for the Splitcoast Color Challenge (CC611)..red, green & vanilla. Perfect color combo for a Christmas card.

Truth be told, this is the first thing I’ve made in over a week. I’ve been seriously under the weather. Fever is gone, but so is my voice! And my throat & chest feel like they’re on fire w/ the cough that’s still hanging in there. I’m pretty sure this was helped along by all the smoke we’ve had from the fires north of us.

The pinecone was colored & fussy cut. I found a scrap of ivory linen so I stamped the pine branches & greeting on it then added the pinecone. The kraft bg was die cut then embossed w/ a corner flourish. I rubbed over the top w/ a white pencil then added sequins & some stickles for the sparkle.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used on the pine cone.

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge, so a big congrats to Jan, the newest FS! She is such a sweetheart, always leaving wonderful comments & playing in the challenges & she has a really lovely gallery! I chose THIS to case. I kept the Christmas theme & joy greeting, but I used a die cut image instead of a wreath & added some sponging & snowflakes.

These lovely bells were stamped onto pine green card stock. I used Prismacolor pencils to color them, then over stamped them & die cut. I really like the look of pencils on dark card stock. The large white panel was stamped first w/ just the Joy using little red & green Memento inks then I used an embossing folder to add the texture.

The big J & Y & snowflake were die cut then sponged on the lower half. I added little snowflakes on top of the O’s on the red & green Joys. Here’s a look at the inside.

For my Christmas wreath, after coloring it, I die cut it w/ an arch die & did a little out of the box for the parts that hung outside the edge. I was going for the look of a wreath hanging on an arched door. I used some double stitched rectangles to construct the white layer behind it & stamped the greeting over the arch. The two printed papers were die cut, then I stacked them, cut them then put the top of the print on top of the plaid. I used a stitched band behind the arch to go over the split of background paper. Sort of a chair rail look. Since there was still so much blank space below on the plaid paper, I stamped the Christmas on a little rectangle & added the white Merry above it.

Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used. christmas-wreath-inside00096 christmas-wreath-copics-00088
