Julie Warner – I had a little more time today, so I made another for the Color Challenge (CC476) on Splitcoast. The colors seemed perfect for this wisteria image. After stamping and coloring with Copics, I did my out of the box treatment on it. It’s such a large image it was about the only way I could add any more layers and have them show. After die cutting it and the brushed gold layer behind it, I wanted a little more color but all I had was the darker strip on the left, so I added another strip of a lavender heather and embossed it for some texture.

Julie Warner – I added two metallic Candi dots in the curves on top and bottom. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

Julie Warner –

Julie Warner –
The CAS (clean & simple) Challenge (CAS270) today on Splitcoast is Stars. One of my first thoughts when I think of stars is the Stars & Stripes so that’s the direction I went. I used a couple of brand new images & dies from Our Daily Bread designs which will be released on May 1. I also combined a couple of previous releases…the sentiment in the lower right (from Some Gave All) and the patriotic heart (from Heart & Soul) and the Ornate Heart dies

I started by die cutting the large heart on the white, then stamping both sentiments using a combination of the red & blue inks. I added a few more stars from the Some Gave All sentiment and then I had to add some red & blue splatter because apparently I can’t keep my inky mitts away from white space. But I like the splatter so all’s well that ends well. The patriotic heart was stamped using the same inks and die cut. The angel wings & star were all die cut.

Thanks so much for stopping by! And if you see a man or woman in uniform, please shake their hand & say “Thanks so much for your service!”

Julie Warner –
A big congrats to Priscilla, the newest Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS377)! She has such a wonderful gallery and it was so hard to chose…I may have to come back with another! Besides the fact that Priscilla loves to use die cuts and embossing folders, I noticed she also has a lot of pink & white cards. For my CASE, I chose THIS card. I kept the layout, the colors & the embossed background but I used different images, made my focal point a large tag & used a sheer bow instead of a band of lace.

After stamping my greeting, I die cut with a large tag die on 3 sides but used a fancy tag for the left end. The pink border was done with a pink Copic marker & I also used it to tint the sheer white ribbon for the bow. The flower/ring corner image was stamped on the large white panel, colored with Copics then I used a corner embossing folder on 3 of the corners. I had to rotate the folder and do 1 corner at a time in order to do 3 corners since the folder is actually only 2 opposing corners. I added a bit of stickles to the flowers, a pink layer & called it done! These are the Copics I used.

Julie Warner –
