Weekly-Favorite
For this first card, I white embossed the image on a dotted green designer paper, then sponged a little extra green ink around the white embossing to make it stand out a bit more. The sentiment was also white embossed and sponged w/ the die still in place. It’s attached to a layer I first die cut w/ a Spellbinders labels 1, then I die cut it w/ a smaller decorative labels 1 and put it back in the labels 1 frame. I added an embossed white strip and a strip of a coordinating dp on top and bottom. This came about because I accidentally cut the the dotted green dp a little too short so I had to lengthen the panel in order for it to look balanced. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Supplies:

Stamps: North Coast Creations – Find Beauty
Paper: Neenah white, dp (Kaisercraft -Chapter One)
Ink: Colorbox frost white pigment, Kaliedacolor Caribbean sea
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 1 & Decorative Labels 1 dies, white embossing powder, Quickutz embossing folder (Nautical set)

On my second card, I stamped the silhouette image using an orange to red rainbow pad. On the left side of the panel I embossed it w/ a honeycomb border folder then attached it to a larger panel I had stamped the ODBD honeycomb background using the same rainbow ink. The sentiment was stamped w/ the red chalk ink and die cut using an ODBD Elegant Ovals die. Everything was attached to a 5.50 x 4.25 card and I added a stamped and fussy cut cloud and some crystals on the bottom of the sentiment.

Supplies:

Stamps: North Coast Creations – Something Marvelous, ODBD Honeycomb Bg
Paper: Neenah white
Ink: Kaliedacolor Desert Heat, Colorbox lipstick red chalk ink
Accessories: ODBD/Spellbinders Elegant oval dies, Darice Bee/Honeycomb embossing folder, gems

A
big congrats to Jodi, the Featured Stamper (FS331) on Splitcoast! What a super gallery and I noticed she has a lot of vintage images and little frames w/ a postage stamp edge, so I chose her Hello, Bonnie Blue Bell to case. I kept the Hello theme, soft colors and general layout, but I used different images, made my background instead of using dp and put the sentiment on the image panel.

I stamped the greeting  next to the little telephone and colored it w/ Copics, using the colors from Tuesday’s Color Challenge (CC429), sand, pink & sky. To make the background, I placed a couple of strips of drywall mesh across white c/s and sponged the colors on. I added a few strips of painter’s tape and sponged on more color. I die cut one frame using the postage stamp squares (resized to a rectangle) and a narrow white frame around the outside. I used copics to color in the postage stamp frame. The card is 4.25 x 5.50.

For once, I actually remembered to take a pic of the Copics I used before I put them all back. So just in case you’d like to know, here they are:

I’m back again today w/ another card! This time I made it for the Splitcoast VSN challenge, red white & blue JUN13VSND. I love patriotic and military themed cards. While this may look like it has a lot going on, it was quick and pretty easy. I didn’t color anything and the background is a piece of designer paper. I didn’t even tie a bow…just looped some ribbon. I did do a little out of the box on the eagle but I do it so frequently, I could probably do it in my sleep. There’s just a hint of color inside the die cut edges, but that’s it. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs – Some Gave All
Paper: vanilla, navy blue, dp (unknown -it just says Vintage Military)
Ink: Adirondack denim, Distressed Ink in antique linen & fired brick
Accessories: Spellbinders long rectangle, ribbon banner & resplendent rectangle dies, Copic marker (to age the ribbon)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
