For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC847) we’re visiting Annie Cloth & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS for my inspiration.

For my mini slimline birthday card, I started by die cutting the white panel first w/ the largest stitched die, then placing the cut panel in the lattice die & only cutting the lower portion. I did this by putting the edge of the top plate only as far as I wanted it to cut & letting the rest stick out so it wouldn’t be cut. You could easily do two panels & put them together, but I went this direction. A narrow lt teal strip was cut w/ the same stitched mini slimline die, I moved the opposite edge in & cut it on the top side to make the narrow strip. Then I used a Cuttlebug border folder to emboss the dots across it. For the lower panel under the lattice, I stamped a rose background strip w/ 3 colors of Color Fuse inks & attached it behind the lattice. I stamped the two birthday words (from different sets) using the oxide ink then put my strip on & attached to the card. The flowers were die cut out of several teal, aqua & lt green papers & assembled. Instead of putting them in alternate layers, I lined the layers up for a different look.

I only attached the flower layers in the centers in order to “fluff” the petals up a bit. Some small, white faceted gems were added to the flower centers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC803), we’re headed to Shop Sweet Lulu. They had quite a few things that caught my eye, but I kept coming back to THIS card. The hot pink hair & star shaped sunglasses really captured my attention.

For my card, I stamped, colored & die cut the Nala image, I die cut some stars for her sunglasses using gold & white glitter card. I had to practice that hot pink hair a couple of times on scrap to get the look I wanted. I popped up just a bit on a rounded corner rectangle & added a turquoise mat. It took me a while to figure out what to do about a bg to tie all the colors together. Then I found a piece I made a while back by spraying the inside of an embossing folder then running it thru the machine. It had the colors & kind of retro rock feel to it. After I put it all together, I added some stickles to the raised white lines on the bg. The greeting is part stamped, part die cut.

Congrats to Gayle, the newest Featured Stamper (FS722)! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS to case. I mainly went w/ the one on the left, keeping the cardinal & greenery, but I used different images & dies & used a different layout.

I stamped the lantern & colored it w/ Copics. Did a little out of the box to keep from cutting off the top of the lantern & the tip of the cardinal’s tail (trust me..birds do not like you messing w/ their tails).

On the kraft layer, I stamped the new pinecone all over w/ the Distress oxide ink but a left a space for the greeting. The pine green circle was dry embossed & I rubbed some gold rub n buff type paste over the top of it. A white gel pen was used to add some highlights to the greeting.
