For the Inspiration Challenge (IC855), we have a Pinterest Board of hats where I chose THIS as my inspiration for the hot colors & spiky feathers of the hat.
After die cutting the palms, seagulls, sand & flamingo, I also die cut some extras to layer for some dimension. The tropical paper was die cut once w/ the larger stitched rectangle, then I used a couple of sizes smaller to cut out the inside. The white layers were added then all the white tropical die cuts added on top.
Here’s a look at the inside:

It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS793) this week & a big congrats to Wendy! There were many I wanted to case but I really liked THIS card so I chose it. I kept the floating strip panel & tall flowers but used different images & dies, different colors & embossed my bg w/ a die instead of an embossing folder.
For my card, I used a pair of multi layered peony images &stamped the layers w/ the gradient shades of inks then die cut them w/ their matching dies. On the floating strip square, I first die cut a square of white then same size squares out of several shades of pink paint chips. I took the squares & cut different width strips of the colors & attached a couple of layers of cardboard behind them before attaching them to the white square. The lg white bg was embossed only using the Organic Cover die.
The flowers were popped up a bit & some gems added to finish.

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC854) we’re visiting a Pinterest Board called The Postmans Knock where I found THIS picture.
I wanted a watercolor look to my branches so I put a die cut piece of water color paper into my Misti to allow me to stamp the same branch w/ different shades of inks. On the first impression, I misted the branch w/ a little water. After stamping w/ 2 or 3 colors, I also used some water based makers to add a little more depth to the leaves. The greeting was stamped on a separate piece of w/c paper along w/ the butterfly. I used a water brush to spread the ink colors inside the butterfly then stamped it again using the darkest of the teal inks. I repeated this on a scrap of w/c paper & cut that butterfly out to pop up on top of the base image. The greeting layer was popped up on top to give some dimension.
Stickles was added to the butterfly & gems attached on the branches.
