Today’s Clean & Simple (CAS383) Challenge wants us to use Red, White & Blue. While this may not look as simple as some, I only colored the little pie & everything else is die cut, so pretty easy.
The piece of dp on the side & the half doily were leftovers so I used them as is. The pennant row & Patriotic pennants were stamped first w/ Memento then over stamped w/ a coordinating color of Versafine to get good coverage since they’re such solid images. After die cutting everything, it was just a matter of arranging it all.
Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS490) on Splitcoast, and the newest FS is Kendra (jksand)! I chose THIS card to case. I kept the semi circle shaker element & most of the layout, but I turned mine horizontal, used different images & different papers.
Isn’t this monkey adorable? After putting the monkey & the bananas into my Misti, I stamped w/ Memento, colored w/ Copics, over stamped w/ Versafine, then die cut using the matching dies. I made quite a few of the bananas to have some for inside the shaker. The white frame was die cut & the shaker was made from a clear envelope. I put some sequins in it & popped up the frame on top to give the shaker a little room. The striped paper was added behind & the little narrow frame of it was added on top of the white layer.

Congrats again, Kendra! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Has it been crazy hot where you are? And humid, too? A walk outside around here is feeling like walking through a steam room. It’s pretty bad when it feels as if you’re wearing the air like a wetsuit. As Dr. Suess might say…I do not like the heat. I do not like it one bit. I do not like it even one little bit. For today’s Inspiration Challenge (IC551), we have a Pinterest Board full of Tim Holtz inspiration. I was inspired by THIS card.
(I DO like these colors. I do like them a lot.) And cattails & dragonflies are what you’d probably see in a hot, humid area. You can tell it’s hot because of the blazing orange above the dragonflies. I die cut a stitched rectangle out of the white linen c/s then sponged on the oranges from the top down and the green/turq from the bottom up. Then I put it into my Misti, stamped the cattails & dragonflies w/ Memento, added some color w/ Copics, then over stamped w/ Versafine. Just a touch of the splatter bg. was added here & there. The greeting was die cut in a double stitched circle & I sponged the outer circle w/ the same colors.
Funny thing about the bottom…I scored the top fold in the wrong place which made the front shorter & back too long. Instead of rescoring it (which would make it look funny & all), I cut off the excess on the back & added a sponged strip w/ part of the grid border on top. I guess another case of a mistake turning into an opportunity for change.
Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used for the cattails & dragonflies.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
