A big congrats to Robin, the newest Featured Stamper (FS488) on Splitcoast! After much browsing, I picked THIS card to case. I kept the basic layout but used different images, different colors & made a water color bg instead of using designer paper. I’m also combining this with the Inspiration Challenge (IC549) & THIS was my abstract inspiration.
To make my background, I sprayed parts of the w/c paper w/ water then sprinkled on the Brushos crystals & spritzed w/ water again. Most of the time, I used a heat gun to dry it in between colors so they wouldn’t make mud. When completely dry, I stamped the butterfly corner w/ Versamark & clear embossed. Then I used a very wet paintbrush to wet the areas inside the embossed flowers & a paper towel to lift some of the color.
The butterfly on top was heat embossed w/ white ink & white powder on a separate piece of painted bg & die cut w/ the matching die. The You was also die cut out of the same bg.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I’m also adding this to the Simon Says Monday Challenge-Summer Garden
and Virginia’s View Challenge #22

Gorgeous work, the colors are brilliantly bright and the design creative. Lovely.

Amazing colors, Julie! Thanks for sharing your creative process! The card is so artsy and beautiful! Glad that Vicki reminded you the new challenge theme! Thanks so much for playing Virginia’s View “All about Colors” Challenge!
This card is such an incredible feast for the eyes! You gave it such oomph and pow without being over-the-top crazy with the colors. It is stunning and I love how the flowers in the background sort of bleed into color puddles as they extend out. The white butterfly is such a classy touch, too. All in all, this is a stunner and I’m so glad you shared it with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
Out of a sea of lovely cards yours stood out to me. It is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
