I’ve been absent for so long, I feel really out of practice! For this card, I’m combining the color, sketch & ways to use it challenges.
The white STAR word was die cut using a combo of alphabet dies & a star die. I cut a larger patterned red layer to go behind it, then cut out the middle so the brown star paper would show through. The pennant row & backing layer were also die cut, the letters stamped, hand cut & attached on top.
For the beaded part, I used some of those tiny clear holeless beads on the guitar wings & strung some seed beads to make a guitar strap.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Welcome to the January Challenge for Serendipity Stamps! This month the challenge is Hidden Gems! You can get all the details over on the Serendipity Challenge Blog. The sale this week is Buy 3 Get 1 Free. Good through January 14 and as always, we have a have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random player.
For my hidden gem, I used the wonderful Winter Town and a sort of spotlight technique. I also did something I rarely do…I didn’t color a single thing. At first I wanted to white emboss it on navy card stock, but the image is so detailed, it just couldn’t be done. So I went in the reverse direction and stamped it with navy ink onto white card stock. Just the spotlight area was stamped again on a smaller, taller piece and I added some “snow” with the Ink Spots image and few snowflakes cut from the Snow die.
I used the Marble Feathers background on the navy card stock layers. You can see it a bit more on the card inside along with some trimmed off navy strips and some stamped snowflakes & one fussy cut snowflake.

Today we are taking another look at the North Coast Creations December Release! Such fun images for big & little boys!
On my first card, I used the Dump Truck Birthday set. After coloring and die cutting, I added some of the ODBD Patriotic paper and an ODBD Pennant across the top. The die cut banner was stamped w/ letters from the ODBD Pennant Alphabet. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

For my second card, I used the fun I Dig You set. I brown embossed the image on a tan piece of designer paper and fussy cut it. On the brown patterned paper, I used the small stars die (from the Sparkling Stars dies) a number of times across the lower right corner then placed another piece of patterned paper behind it.
