For the Inspiration Challenge (IC655), I was inspired by THIS. I’ve always loved this unique coffee image & it’s been way too long since I used it. So I managed to locate it (since moving, it’s been a challenge to find a lot of stuff!).
For my card, I put the coffee image (Smell the Coffee set CL157) into my Misti and stamped it on some paper I hand marbled. Well, actually it’s a copy of the paper I hand marbled. Since each one is a one of a kind piece I started using color copies so I could hang onto the originals. After stamping, I die cut & used some the leftover paper to make a frame. Some stickles was added for the glitter part.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC649), Angie chose Vineyard Marketplace & I chose THIS for my inspiration. I like the bright colors & floral theme.
This bg was made a while ago, using swirls made with plain old glue then using watercolors on top of it. I just really like the bright, happy colors & thought they’d go well behind these whimsical leaves. The leaves were put into my Misti, stamped, colored w/ Copics & a Prismacolor pencil overlay, then stamped again. I added the greeting & did my out of the box technique to die cut it. By the way, I first did that tutorial way back in Feb 2009 using another IO image set! It’s probably my most used technique. After matting, I used stickles in some areas, added a few sequins & some white dots for contrast.

Has it been crazy hot where you are? And humid, too? A walk outside around here is feeling like walking through a steam room. It’s pretty bad when it feels as if you’re wearing the air like a wetsuit. As Dr. Suess might say…I do not like the heat. I do not like it one bit. I do not like it even one little bit. For today’s Inspiration Challenge (IC551), we have a Pinterest Board full of Tim Holtz inspiration. I was inspired by THIS card.
(I DO like these colors. I do like them a lot.) And cattails & dragonflies are what you’d probably see in a hot, humid area. You can tell it’s hot because of the blazing orange above the dragonflies. I die cut a stitched rectangle out of the white linen c/s then sponged on the oranges from the top down and the green/turq from the bottom up. Then I put it into my Misti, stamped the cattails & dragonflies w/ Memento, added some color w/ Copics, then over stamped w/ Versafine. Just a touch of the splatter bg. was added here & there. The greeting was die cut in a double stitched circle & I sponged the outer circle w/ the same colors.
Funny thing about the bottom…I scored the top fold in the wrong place which made the front shorter & back too long. Instead of rescoring it (which would make it look funny & all), I cut off the excess on the back & added a sponged strip w/ part of the grid border on top. I guess another case of a mistake turning into an opportunity for change.
Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used for the cattails & dragonflies.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
