A big congrats to Francine, the newest Featured Stamper (FS738)! She has a fab gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the die word cut off at the bottom, but used different dies, different colors & made mine a birthday card.

I made a similar card, w/ the die cut bottom like this, a long time ago & liked the look, so I was immediately drawn to that in Francine’s card. For my version, I die cut the 2 white panels; on the smaller one, I also die cut the bottom using the shadow part of the word die, then put it back. On the larger bg, I sponged just a little color at the bottom, then used a spritzer tool & Copics to spray the color onto it. Not as smooth as an airbrush system, but it will do. Then the stars bg was stamped in some of the same hot pink colors over this bg. I also put a white Posca pen into the spritzer tool & misted it, too. I did the same on the die cut Birthday, using the blue Copics. I added a star border die cut & added some stickles to it for a little sparkle.

These are the Copics I used to spritz on the color.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC799), we’re headed to Homebnc Pinterest Board where I found THIS picture.

On my card, I’m using some new dies & greetings from Rubbernecker Stamps. I first die cut the large pot our of an alcohol ink bg. It’s a little hard to tell, but it’s pretty shiny & metallic in real life. The stems of all the flowers were cut out of a few greens & the flowers were all cut out of white that sponged different pastel colors of ink on to get all the colors. The bg was cut w/ a couple of slimline dies & I placed a larger turquoise layer behind them. To get the inside frame, I cut the white piece twice, using 2 sizes of the die set, then put middle (frame part) back.

It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS737) this week, so a big congrats to Sandy! She has a wonderful gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS card to case. I kept the floral in the oval & birthday theme, but used different stamps & dies, added a designer paper & turned the layout horizontal.

I’m using some new items..the clear stamp set & layered script You are to be released this coming week! After stamping & coloring the carnation, I used the out of the box technique & an oval die to cut it. The first part of the greeting was stamped & I masked of the rest & replaced it w/ the layered word die.

Here are the Copics I used. I went back in later & added a light shadow on the right side w/ C2 & C3 markers, so they aren’t shown below.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll get the link for the new Layered Script Word die up as soon as I get it.
