Julie Warner – https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com
The CAS (clean & simple) Challenge (CAS270) today on Splitcoast is Stars. One of my first thoughts when I think of stars is the Stars & Stripes so that’s the direction I went. I used a couple of brand new images & dies from Our Daily Bread designs which will be released on May 1. I also combined a couple of previous releases…the sentiment in the lower right (from Some Gave All) and the patriotic heart (from Heart & Soul) and the Ornate Heart dies

I started by die cutting the large heart on the white, then stamping both sentiments using a combination of the red & blue inks. I added a few more stars from the Some Gave All sentiment and then I had to add some red & blue splatter because apparently I can’t keep my inky mitts away from white space. But I like the splatter so all’s well that ends well. The patriotic heart was stamped using the same inks and die cut. The angel wings & star were all die cut.

Thanks so much for stopping by! And if you see a man or woman in uniform, please shake their hand & say “Thanks so much for your service!”

Hello Julie-your work and creativity is amazing – I always enjoy seeing what you will be creating next!

I wanted to ask if you ever sell your cards. Pls don’t think me rude, I am just starting and don’t have a die machine and am no where near even the tinest of how awesome you are. This card prompted me to write you as I am trying to put together a collage for my husband. His 38 yr old son, Bruce, killed himself two months ago – he suffered terribly from PTSD and depression. He was in Iraq for 14 months and came back a different person. My husband is hurting, as can be imagined – Bruce’s young son only turned 5 the day before Bruce took his life. I’ve been trying to gather some unique items together and do this quietly for my husband. I understand if you don’t sell your cards so if you don’t-do you have any ideas where I might look for such patriotic cards? Thank you and I am sorry if I’m bothering you. I feel strange even writing this but I love my hubby so much. Thank you, Debbie Kay
