Bloomin’ Hydrangeas


It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC804) this week & we’re headed to Nina Cloak &/0r their Pinterest Board. There were so many lovely patterns on their items, but I really liked the split negative look of THIS dress.

After stamping, coloring & die cutting the flowers, I die cut the white & black bgs w/ the rect stitch dies. Then I stacked them & die cut the stitched hills diagonally; I cut them at the same time in order to have them match exactly. Then I split them apart a bit & added a strip of lavender in between. To compensate for this spread, after putting the panels together, I used the rectangle die again, matching up the stitch lines across the top & bottom. This could have been done all in one step, by putting the panels together first, then die cutting the whole thing. But I didn’t think of adding the lavender strip until after I’d cut them the first time. Doesn’t it always seem to work out that way? But I’ll remember it next time!
