Beach Bungalows

A fun in the sun at the beach mini slimline card with some colorful beach bungalows, fish and palm trees. You can almost feel the ocean breeze. These new Winter Town dies are great for summer, too!

A big congrats to LilyLynn, the newest Featured Stamper (FS908). She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the colorful beach scene & layout, but I used dies instead of stamps, drew on the siding & colored them, added some seagulls and a little glitter glue on the waves.

I die cut all the house parts, fish, seagulls, clouds & palm trees, then drew the plank siding on the houses & colored everything in. For the sky, I used a cloud stencil for the top part & added a horizon line of die cut clouds behind the houses. I needed some sort of stand for the houses, so I used the bottom of a bee house from another set & the second house from the left is actually the bee house. The sand was die cut w/ a hills die and for the waves, I die cut them out of white, used the cut off top part as a stencil to add more waves shapes w/ ink and a brush. The fish were all colored & added in the water then a few lines of glitter glue were added on top of the waves.

Enjoy the Waves

An all die cut card featuring cute little sailboats, a beautiful rope and anchor undersea frame and some lovely sea themed paper. The main color is a neutral sand with ivory and navy boat sails and a beautiful blue wavy pattern papaer behind it. It only looks complicated, but it’s actually pretty easy.

For the Inspiration Challenge, we are visiting The Other Aesthic & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS picture of some beach inspired pillows. I really liked the neutral w/ the navy. After die cutting the large frame, I trimmed it around the edges just a bit then attached it to a slightly larger piece of the blue designer paper. Helpful Tip: Before you attach the 2 pieces of paper together, line them up & die cut the larger circle out of the blue paper, in the section where the circle will go on top. Then cut the smaller circle out of the sand paper in the same area. When they are attached together, they will cover the missing circles in the top frame piece. It keeps you from having to use 2 pieces of paper. All the boat parts were cut out of ivory & navy & some waves were cut out of the blue and a small section of the sand color.

For the waves, after attaching them to the bottom of the circle, I ran it back thru the die cutting machine w/ the same stitched circle to trim the excess. The greeting was stamped onto a separate piece of ivory, trimmed closely, & split in half. I attached them to little rectangles of the blue designer paper & added them to the front as shown.

Enjoy Your Summer

A fun card full of colorful swimsuits, hats & flip flops. Perfect for a vacation send off, beach trip or just to say hi. Color these any way your heart desires or use someone’s favorite colors. Would also look great in a monochromatic color scheme. Be sure to bring enough popsicles for everyone!

A big congrats to Christine, the newest Featured Stamper (FS905)! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS to case. I loved the idea of matching images in different colors, so I kept that. I used different images & dies, not near as many swimsuits as Christine has sisters, lol. And I made mine a summer card instead of a t-shirt.

After stamping all the images several times, coloring & die cutting them, I added card board behind them to give them lift & sturdiness. I dry fit everything in order to find the best place for the greeting. After I stamped it, I attached all the colorful images. When I had it all put together, I thought “hmm..didn’t bring enough popsicles for everyone”. Oh well.
