For the Inspiration Challenge (IC719) on Splitcoast, we’re heading to Dormify. A fun site (especially for back to schoolers) & I was inspired by THIS poster. I really liked the orange/blue combo.
To make my beach scene, I masked off the water & sky area & sponged in some oranges for the ground/sand, added a little brown to the sides along w/ stamping a splatter image for a little texture. The mask was reversed for the water & sky & those were sponged. I used some Tombow markers to “ink” up the palm trees & stamped them on either side. Surfer boy Zeke was colored & fussy cut & the old woody was die cut. The greeting is partly another stamp combined w/ some die cut & colored letters. I added the white wavy polaroid type frame for a little separation & to make the greeting stand out.
Here is the inside & the Copics I used:

A big congrats to Terry, the newest Featured Stamper (FS649) on Splitcoaststampers! She has a wonderful gallery & after much browsing, I picked THIS card to case. When I saw those little peeps, the shape of them reminded me of these beach girls, lol. I kept the shapes & pink, blue & yellow colors, but used different images & dies, a different layout & made mine a summer card instead of Easter.
After coloring the girls, I ended up fussy cutting them so I could move them closer together. I die cut some sand dunes & waves along w/ the palm trees & lifeguard stand to make my little scene. (The textured gray I used for the lifeguard tower was a leftover & already had the distressed stripes embossed on it. I just used some of the same Copics to color the fence & roof.) Looks like a fun time at the beach for these three!
Here’s the inside & the Copics I used to color everything.

Happy 4th of July! It’s my turn & my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge this week & we’re heading to Hometalk. Talk about a rabbit hole..I could get lost in there for days, checking out all the fab DIY projects. For my card, I was inspired by THIS. The simple, nautical wreath turned into a little beach & sailboat scene inside a wreath.
After die cutting a white & a navy circle frame, I cut pieces of the navy one, edged them w/ a gold Krylon pen & attached them to the white frame. On the circle inside the frame, I added waves, a sailboat, some palm trees & a beach umbrella. For the sand, I cut the Kraft c/s, stamped it w/ a splatter image & white ink, then inked the top edges w/ the white ink.
