For the Inspirations Challenge on Splitcoast (IC646), the site is the Smithsonian & I chose THIS as my inspiration. I have always wanted to visit the Smithsonian museums..hopefully one day I’ll get there.
The ruby slippers image was placed into my Misti, stamped (leaving off the original greeting), colored w/ Copics & a Prismacolor pencil overlay, then stamped again. Since it’s a really large image, I had to use a large pierced die to cut it. The shoes were masked & I stamped the clockworks & little gears down the left w/ the gray ink then I stamped the magic shoes greeting. I didn’t really want to cover up all the coloring w/ glitter, so I added a narrow red glitter layer behind the panel.
Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.

Today’s challenges on Splitcoast, TLC677 & CAS468 were combined for this card. The Technique was use a paper towel roll as a painting tool & the Clean & Simple was to have a bird.
So for the technique challenge, I took the cardboard center of a paper towel roll & cut a piece off then cut it up the middle & used only about half of it. After rolling this piece much tighter (for a smaller circumference) I taped it the slit the bottom as per the technique. After stamping w/ the different colors of paint, I let it dry. It wasn’t quite as pretty as I hoped it would be, so I just a section of it behind the toucan. The toucan was colored w/ Copics & die cut.
Here are the Copics I used for the toucan.

Today is Day 1 of Splitcoaststampers Dare to Get Dirty Challenges! And I made this for my challenge & for all the details of the challenge, go HERE…but you’ll need to be a Fan Club member. That’s easy!
To make my celestial birthday card, I used water color paper to make a Wrinkle Free Distress background using Distress Oxide inks. When it dried, I used a couple of stencils & lightly sponged just a little pattern here & there. Then I stamped just the border of the Rainbow Safari image around the edges then used a paintbrush and a little of oxide ink to paint half of the leaves. The Sister Sun image was stamped & colored w/ Copics. I used a circle die & did a little out of the box to keep the sun rays intact. The little greeting strip was added underneath the cut off section on the right.
