Today, I have a many candled birthday card. Some are die cut and some are stenciled, but they all shimmer in the light. There is also a faint gold balloon and star background on top. This is a good all around card that can go to just about anyone..guys, girls or kids. Easy to make a few ahead of time and not have to worry about it being too girly or too masculine. Also easy to customize by changing the colors.

A big congrats to Amy, the newest Featured Stamper FS940! She has a wonderful little growing gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout with the long vertical element on the left & narrow panel above, but I used different dies, colors & a stencil & stamp instead of watercolor. I also added a greeting & made mine a birthday card.

For the little candles across the bottom, I used a 2 part stencil & 4 shades of blue for the candles. Then I went over them w/ Brilliance pearlescent sky blue & mediterranean blue to give them some shimmer. The flame stencil was done w/ yellow & a little red then I went over it w/ galaxy gold & rocket red for shimmer. The long panel on top was stamped w/ galaxy gold. I like how it’s visible, but not overwhelming. Although there are several different candle dies, I used the same barber pole candle for all three. The solid backs were cut out of 3 colors & the striped toppers were cut out of metallic colors as were the flames. So the whole card has a nice shimmer but it’s not glaringly metallic.

    Thanks
    so much for stopping by!

This scenic card was pretty easy to make and has a rainbow of colors to offset the black backgrouns and white trees. It just takes a few dies, the brush stroke clear stamps, multple inks and some clear embossing powder. The fun part was mixing the colors to get entirely new shades.

For the Inspiration Challenge, IC1001, we are visiting Nicebai & their Pinterest Board. I was inspired by THIS tee shirt. I loved the strokes of colors against the white trees & black background.

I started by picking two of the narrowest brush strokes & placing them in my Misti. Then I used the colors on the shirt as a guide to the colors I picked. I started w/ the center red stroke & made it by inking first w/ nectar a couple of times, then used the bubblegum a couple of times on top. The darker red was done the same way with the addition of lilac & odyssey once each. The orange/red is nectar with apricot. The light blue is sky with just a touch of odyssey. The teal is straight up whisper. The light green is moss by itself. The yellow is custard. The rust color is nectar plus apricot plus pumpkin. The dark blue/violet is odyssey plus lilac, each stamped several times. Then to keep the colors vibrant, I rubbed it all over w/ a Versamark & heat embossed w/ clear powder. In the pictures, it really isn’t pebbled or cracked, it’s just the light reflecting on the glass like coating.

I ended up using only the feathered end of the brush strokes & used the edger die to cut a narrow band. For the white lower edge, I cut another forest, snipped off the trees & turned it upside down then put the band on top of it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Does someone you know need a little encouragement or just a “I’m thinking of you” card? The greetings on this set are perfect for that and the lovely big flower surrounded by smaller ones is just beautiful. You can almost smell the floral scent of spring on this card. Maybe even give it a little spritz of something sweet before you mail it.

A big congrats to auntieof8, the newest Featured Stamper FS939! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the circular wreath like floral image but I used different images, dies, colors & left off the dry embossed front.

Normally, this big floral image is all one piece, but I colored & die cut one full image, then colored & fussy cut just the center rose & leaves to add on top. It’s attached to two white circles backed by two pink circles and they are popped up on top of the full image. The full image is also elevated just a bit. A large pink layer was added behind the white front and the greeting was stamped toward the bottom. The coordinating dies for this flower set also has dies for all the greetings, I just didn’t use it here.

Here are the Copics I used:
