Isn’t this a fabulous rooster image? I just love it & it’s so fun to color. I knew roosters have a lot of color, but until I did an image search, I didn’t realize just how colorful they are! I used my Misti to stamp my rooster w/ Memento then colored him with Copics. Since it was still in the Misti, I stamped over him using Versafine & the details just popped! Then I did what turned out to be a tricky die cutting on the image by cutting only the top half w/ a pierced circle and only the bottom half w/ a pierced square. I like how it turned out. For the top background, again I used the Misti to stamp the wonderful Bandana image onto kraft card stock then used a white gel pen to add some tracings around the image.

Supplies:

Paper: X-Press It white, kraft

Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Versafine onyx (to overstamp image after coloring & for the bandana)

Accessories: Spellbinders A2 matting basics A & B, circles, pierced rectangles & pierced circles dies, Copic markers, MISTI, white gel pen

My second card uses this fabulous new Hot Air Balloon Reverse die! I’m over the moon with it! At first I was going to put some designer paper behind it, but changed my mind and made a brayered background for it. I had a leftover piece of matte coated card stock (it really soaks up the ink) & after brayering it, I masked the center & stamped the edge of Wood Background image with black ink then I sprayed it w/ a matte acrylic sealer because this matte coat paper is a little fussy & I wanted the ink to stay put.

I attached the white die cut onto a second die cut & then some pieces of thick card stock to elevate it above the background. The greeting was stamped in the lower right & some sequins added for sparkle. Here’s the inside.

Serendipity SSCB#45 pt 2- Monochrome!

The color I went with for my monochrome card is red. I thought it would stand out well against all the white space. I had two partial sheets, one w/ a faint woodgrain pattern, the other w/ tiny white stars so the layout evolved around these pieces. The USA map was stamped on a white pierced panel & I had to tilt it a bit & move HI & AK a bit to fit around the greeting. The die cut Concho (from the Bandana die) was added in the corner along with a punched state of TX & little heart. I have several sizes of TX punches/dies & I chose it because I’m a TX native, it’s in the middle & the shape is easily recognizable. 😀 And I love the concho..it reminds me of the Texas Ranger badge & a couple of my ancestors were TX Rangers. But this map would work great with any state you want to highlight.

I needed a card for a friend who’s not been feeling well, and normally I wouldn’t make this cute little piglet so pink, but since it’s monochromatic, I needed him to go with the paper. This is also for SweetMissDaisy’s Dare to Get Dirty Challenge. The details are HERE, but you’ll need to be a Fan Club member…it’s easy, just click to find out how.

For the Piggy, I used my Misti to stamp her with Memento, colored with Copics, then over stamped using Versafine. Love how it really brings out the details! I did move the little flowers from the image in order to make way for the Out of Snorts greeting. I added a couple of die cut frames around her then stamped the flower on both papers and fussy cut.

For my card, the color I chose is a blue/gray. I wanted to use this wonderful rowboat & dock image & was looking thru some backgrounds I’ve made at various times when I came across a stack of Christmas card fronts I had saved. This little river w/ the snowy banks just seemed perfect for my boat. After I stamped it & colored w/ Copics I used the same into the window technique I posted last week HERE. Then I die cut the outer frame and stamped part of the greeting in the lower right. The top loop of the F went into the picture so I took a white gel pen and went over that loop to make it stand out.

The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used:
