As a knitter, I love the Studio Knit Pinterest Board Stacy chose. I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back there to check out the patterns in closer detail. For my card, I was inspired by THIS. I loved the color & texture.
I started by inking the knitted embossing folder w/ a dark blue & med. turquoise inks then embossed it onto white. The paper was lightly spritzed w/ water to help the inking & embossing process. Love how that turned out! Then I die cut the snowman & accessories & instead of adding the die cut scarf, I knitted a little scarf w/ some small needles. Since it was so small, I didn’t try to do anything fancy…just a garter stitch border & stockinette body. I made a frame & stamped the snowflakes w/ a lt blue then put it all together. I did used a C2 & BG000 to add a little shading to the snowman.

I remember seeing one a long while back w/ a tiny little knitted sweater & I’ve been wanting to make one for quite awhile. Now I DID NOT knit this little Barbie sized sweater on those toothpicks. I knit it on regular needles…just way smaller than the yarn called for. I think it recommended sz 8 and I used about a 3. So that was fun enough! When I got to the top, I just slipped it onto the toothpicks. I added a dot embossed white background and part of the Diapers Rattles & Blankets Greeting on a die cut panel & added some yellow stars w/ bows (the rest of the greeting is on the inside). On the larger white background, I stamped the Stars Background w/ the yellow ink then added my baby sweater.

For my card today, I added a couple of different types of texture..the dot embossing on the navy blue panel and the tiny little knitted sweater. I found some yarn in my stash that had these variegated blues/greens I thought would work for a baby boy card. I knit the little sweater on much smaller needles than called for then slipped the stitches onto toothpicks before attaching to the top section. The Hello die was cut once out of heavy white & once out of navy and stacked. The white border is actually the top of the Heart Scroll die. The Baby Boy was stamped on a die cut little word window oval & added along w/ some buttons & a couple of pennant flags die cut from leftover scraps. Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of the inside 🙁
