Congrats to Janeen, the newest Featured Stamper (FS647) on Splitcoast! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the birthday/fishing theme but used different images, different dies & different colors.
For my card, I was trying out this new Camo Bg stamp. I will not lie…I had a bit of trouble at first. First couple of times, I used it too much & just made a messy looking bg. The next 5 times, I couldn’t find a color combo I liked. It was going to be like the little fisherman’s vest..but again it looked too messy so I just used a small part of it for the vest. I finally went with sort of a watery color combo then stamped the little fish on top. A little more subtle, but I like it.
The fisherman was colored w/ Copics (except for the paper pieced vest) & I split the greeting above & below him before adding a dark charcoal layer. The camo bg was actually done on printer paper..it was one of my practice sheets but I liked it so I just glued it to the same charcoal c/s & went w/ it.
Here’s the inside (I replaced the W in Wishes w/ an F from the Pawsitively greeting) & below it are the Copics I used.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Today’s Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS439) on Splitcoaststampers is Friendship & this should be perfect for a friend, to just drop a note to say hi.
I thought this greeting would be perfect w/ the Big Mouth Bass (isn’t he a cutie?) w/ some waves, Bubbles & dragonflies floating around. Only problem was, the Fishing Pole kinda faced the wrong direction. Misti & a piece of blank rubber to the rescue! (Here’s a tutorial so you can see how it’s done.) I put the fishing pole into my Misti & the blank rubber piece under it. Inked & stamped the fishing pole several times onto the rubber. Wanted to make sure I got good ink coverage. Then I place the white card stock on top of the rubber & rubbed it w/ my hand & presto! A reverse image! Then I added the fish, waves, bubbles & dragonflies. After coloring, I added a little Wink of Stella to the fish & dragonflies. Hopefully you can see it a bit in the closeup below.
Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
