For the Inspiration Challenge (IC721), we have Flags on a Stick. They have some really fun, really nice flags & for my card, I was inspired by THIS Halloween flag. I thought the decorated birdhouses were really cute.

For my Halloween card, I die cut the houses & ghosts out of white, the tree, crows & fence out of black & the tiny pumpkin out of orange. To me it seemed simpler to cut the houses in white & color them instead of cutting a bunch out of different colored paper. The die I used for the birdhouses is actually one multilevel roofline spooky house. I cut it out twice then cut apart the house to make my 3 birdhouses. On the yellow one, I colored the stars thru a stencil.  I used a 3/8″ circle punch for the holes, colored them black & put them back in. Then I just put all the pieces together on a white front where I had already stamped the greeting frame.

Here are the Copics (& 1 orange Tombow) I used. This may be the first time I’ve used that black Copic!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I have a fun Halloween card that combines the Technique Challenge (TLC758) to use Washi tape & the Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS549) to use sunset colors. I don’t use Washi tape much so mine is not all that creative..just a polka dot piece across the top. And I think candy corn have just the right sunset colors.

The candy corn was stamped a bunch of times (with a little masking), colored & I drew little faces on them to give them some personality. The greeting was added along w/ a die cut bat & the polka dot washi tape across the top.

Here are the Copics I used.

Today’s Sketch Challenge (SC561) on Splitcoast is a really easy one. I turned the sketch on its side & used the tree limb/bat for the downward (or sideways, in my case) element.

Since it’s an easy, wide open sketch, this is an easy, wide open card & except for the black layer, everything is on one layer. The background was made using the acrylic block techniquea mister & some Distress Inks. I did the purples & oranges separately so they wouldn’t blend too much & make mud. The paper is really lightweight water color paper (from the kids’ department..I like it because it’s smooth) & to speed it along, I dried w/ a heat gun then ran it thru my Big Shot to flatten it. The silhouette images were all stamped w/ Versafine & I used a white gel pen to add highlights. The moon image was stamped on white, fussy cut & added on top & I used a white chalk marker to go around the edges of the panel before attaching it to a black mat.
