  • Joy Bells

A die cut Christmas card w/ metallic gold bells, pierced background & a pretty designer paper strip. Add a die cut word & a pierced background to finish it. Change out the designer paper & make a lot of same but different Christmas cards. Great way to use up leftover strips or bands of pretty paper.

A big congrats to Brenda, the newest Featured Stamper (FS864)! She has a sweet gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout & Christmas theme, put I used different dies, paper strip instead of ribbon & pierced bg instead of embossed.

My card was entirely die cut. The bells were cut out of 3 shades of brushed metallic gold & the clappers are brushed metallic bronze. I used an A2 Narrow Rectangle die to cut the strip of designer paper, added narrow gold strips down the side, then die cut the green scallop edges w/ a Rectangle Scallop die & used just the 2 long edges.

The holly, greenery & shadow for Joy were cut out of 2 different shades of dk green & the Joy was the lightest of the brushed gold. I used a diamond piercing die for the white panel & added some red gems instead of holly berries. I used the back of a small teaspoon on the back of the bells to push out the shape & make them appear more 3D.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Birthday Patio

A fun birthday card w/ a cute patio set, that looks harder than it is. The new paver bg die is great to use over a variety of background papers & makes them look great.

We are visiting Image Kind & their Pinterest Board. I was inspired by THIS patio set picture & I thought this new patio die set would be perfect for it.

For my teal patio card, I die cut the center rectangle out of mint, along w/ the little pillows & table top. I used a teal for the chair cushions & 1 vase. The background was die cut out of a darker teal using a paver cover die. I stacked it a couple of times for dimension, then attached it to a Distress oxide ink bg I had hanging around. I filled in the smaller diamonds w/ white to break it up a bit. It was pretty easy to put it all together & to finish I added the stamped/die cut Happy Birthday.

Just a tiny bit of stickles was added to the flower centers.

    Thanks

  • Teal Season

A white & teal snowy Christmas card. So easy to make w/ just a few dies, a little white splatter for snow & a simple greeting. Change the colors & make a stack of them for Christmas.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS863), so a big congrats to Sue! She has a gorgeous gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS card to case. I kept the color combo, but I used different dies, different stamps & used a die cut bg instead of a stamped one.

My card started w/ a paver cover die I cut once out of white & again out of turquoise then attached them offset. I added another layer behind out of heavy card in order to have it stand up a bit off the card front. I die cut the white trees & 2 teal layers. On the top one, I spritzed it w/ a white shimmer spray, then spattered it w/ a white Posca pen to get the various bright white dots. I also used it to add a narrow white edge to the layer before attaching it to the solid teal layer. The 5 trees were attached across the bottom w/ the single tree popped up on top.

I had a narrow strip of white where I stamped the greeting, then took the flag end of a tag die & cut both ends of the strip. This is also popped up a bit on top of the teal panel.

    Thanks
