  • Flower Lattice Birthday

Posted on February 25, 2022 9:43 PM by Julie Comment

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC847) we’re visiting Annie Cloth & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS for my inspiration.

For my mini slimline birthday card, I started by die cutting the white panel first w/ the largest stitched die, then placing the cut panel in the lattice die & only cutting the lower portion. I did this by putting the edge of the top plate only as far as I wanted it to cut & letting the rest stick out so it wouldn’t be cut. You could easily do two panels & put them together, but I went this direction. A narrow lt teal strip was cut w/ the same stitched mini slimline die, I moved the opposite edge in & cut it on the top side to make the narrow strip. Then I used a Cuttlebug border folder to emboss the dots across it. For the lower panel under the lattice, I stamped a rose background strip w/ 3 colors of Color Fuse inks & attached it behind the lattice. I stamped the two birthday words (from different sets) using the oxide ink then put my strip on & attached to the card. The flowers were die cut out of several teal, aqua & lt green papers & assembled. Instead of putting them in alternate layers, I lined the layers up for a different look.

I only attached the flower layers in the centers in order to “fluff” the petals up a bit. Some small, white faceted gems were added to the flower centers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge, we’re visiting a Window Display Pinterest Board, where I found THIS display for my inspiration.

To make my mini slimline card, I started by putting the outline of the flower image into my Misti & stamping it w/ black. Instead of removing the outline & replacing it w/ the different layers of the image, I left the outline in place & moved the image to another corner where I stamped the different layers in blues & teals. When dry, I moved it back under the outline image, stamped it w/ the Versaclair nocturne & clear embossed the outline. Usually I’d tend to do the embossing first, but I know sometimes the raised lines will interfere w/ the solid layers getting all the way to the edges. I repeated this w/ another large flower, 2 small flowers & the leaves, then die cut them all. The white panel was die cut first w/ the nested stitch mini slimline die, then w/ the triple panel stitch inset. On a lt blue panel, I used the repeating brick stencil & some of the lt teal inks to make the brick bg. This was also die cut w/ the triple window inset & the greeting stamped in the far right window. I popped the white panel up a bit & attached the blue brick insets inside, directly on the card front. The flowers (some also popped up) were added along w/ some gems.

    Thanks so much
    for stopping by!

  • Birthday Flower Vase

Posted on February 5, 2022 10:29 PM by Julie Comment

A big congrats to Rose, the newest Featured Stamper (FS783) on Splitcoast! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the vase of flowers & most of the layout, but I used different images, dies & colors, added some white embossing & moved the greeting to a separate panel.

After stamping & coloring the flower vase, I die cut it w/ a stitched rounded rectangle & attached that to a scalloped white panel. The cobalt blue panel was white embossed w/ a script bg & the yellow panel was a leftover piece that had been cut w/ a rectangle combo die & already had the tiny scallop edge. The greeting was also white embossed & popped up on top.

Here are the Copics I used:
