This is for the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC654) & Stacy chose the Vera Bradley site. Lovely colors & patterns there! I was inspired by THIS tote. I just love the colors & Southwest pattern.
To make my SW background, I applied Distress oxide inks to the inside of the embossing folder (Embossing Folder Stamping) then placed my die cut piece of white card stock inside. I actually used what would normally be the back side because I wanted just the lines & not the inside of the pattern. Leaving the c/s just where it was, I added a little more ink here & there where needed. When satisfied, I went ahead & ran it thru the Big Shot to emboss it because I also wanted the texture. The big Happy was die cut then stamped & double stacked on another white piece to give it some depth. The coral pieces were leftovers that seemed to fit in.

To make my clean & simple St. Patrick’s Day card, I die cut all the pieces and parts out of a water color background I had in my stash. It was a largish leftover from something else, made w/ yellows & greens Brushos crystals. The colors were perfect for a St. Patrick’s Day card & the little bird was die cut out of an area where the greens faded into white. I liked the way it made him look more like a real bird w/ varied coloring. (The shamrock in his hat is part of the Little Critters die set.) The Lucky die was cut once out of the w/c bg & once out of a lime green I used underneath for a bit of a shadow. For the embossed edges, I used a scallop ribbons folder then cut away only one part to use as the edges on either side. The shamrock balloons were added w/ some Baker’s twine strings.

A big Congrats to Joyce Ann, the newest Featured Stamper (FS523) on Splitcoast! She has such a big, beautiful gallery & a lot of scrapbook pages! I chose THIS to case. I kept the sort of vintage humor theme & the layout but changed most everything else. Different images, different colors & different papers. I’m also adding this to the Ways to Use It Challenge (WT622), Spunky Old Broads because this trio of beach babes certainly qualify!
I stamped, colored then overstamped the babes on an already die cut white panel. After adding narrow black & turquoise layers, I found some paper that had glasses on it so I used it down the left. The greeting was tucked underneath the image panel & some die cut glasses were colored and added in the corner. This greeting just makes me chuckle…I can just hear the other two women agreeing w/ her..”Mmmhmmm..you know it, sweetie!”
Here are the Copics I used.

I’m adding this to the Penny Black Feb. Challenge to use a favorite stamp.
