This is for the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC654) & Stacy chose the Vera Bradley site. Lovely colors & patterns there! I was inspired by THIS tote. I just love the colors & Southwest pattern.
To make my SW background, I applied Distress oxide inks to the inside of the embossing folder (Embossing Folder Stamping) then placed my die cut piece of white card stock inside. I actually used what would normally be the back side because I wanted just the lines & not the inside of the pattern. Leaving the c/s just where it was, I added a little more ink here & there where needed. When satisfied, I went ahead & ran it thru the Big Shot to emboss it because I also wanted the texture. The big Happy was die cut then stamped & double stacked on another white piece to give it some depth. The coral pieces were leftovers that seemed to fit in.

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge, so a big congrats to Karen! She has a lovely gallery & I was very taken w/ THIS card…the colors, the layout..I just love it. Which is a little strange, because every time I try to use this blackberry or razzleberry color, I get into trouble. For me, they are very hard colors to work with. Anyway, I kept the colors & layout, but used different images & dies & made mine a birthday card.
After I white embossed the flowers & leaves onto white c/s, I sponged on the Distress inks in the purples & blues then die cut the flowers w/ the matching dies. I didn’t have paper anywhere near this purply color so I also sponged the wider strip down the side, then stamped the leaves w/ Versamark. I had to sponge the Wishing word to match, too. The white linen bg was sponged w/ the tumbled glass & the rest of the greeting was stamped w/ the Versafine purple ink. I came across a large bottle of dew drops (remember those?) so I added a few.

A big congrats to DJ Rants, the newest Featured Stamper (FS528) on Splitcoast! We were on the ODBD team together for quite a while & I’ve been an admirer of her fab gallery for a long time. After much browsing, I chose THIS to case. I kept the birthday theme & most of the layout, but I used different images, different paper & left off the top frame.
To make my birthday card, I die cut 3 white panels then sponged each of them from the top left inward, letting it fade to white in the lower right. I stamped & die cut the big Happy on the largest layer so the section wouldn’t be missed when the other layers were added on top. The little birthday was stamped on the lower right of the top panel. I also die cut 2 more big Happy dies out of white to shadow the stamped version.
