Treehouse 03848For today’s Free For All Challenge (F4A227)  on Splitcoast, the theme is Summer. I remember spending many a summer day in a treehouse my best friend Emily and I built when we were around 8 or 9.  Ours had 2 stories and it was awesome! Emily had a twin sister who was besties with my sis. They were no where near as tomboy as we were. So we tried to charge them a nickel to come up in our fabulous treehouse. They decided they’d build their own in a nearby tree. Oh man…Emily and I almost fell our of our treehouse laughing. They tried to build it from the top down and didn’t get very far. A couple of boards, then they’d want to paint.

So my treehouse was stamped, colored and die cut. I started by stamping the fence, masking as I went, then masked the whole fence and stamped the treehouse behind it. The red, lt blue and navy layers were all leftovers and they fit just about exactly so I used them. The greeting was stamped on the lt blue and to fill in down the left side, I embossed a border. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

    Sandcastle Beach 03681
How fun! The Ways to Use It Challenge (WT484) on Splitcoast is Sand! Stamped, real or sandpaper. I chose stamped. A lot less messy.

I stamped the sandcastle and sea grass, colored them with Copics then added a little texture to the sand by stamping the splatter background on top using sand ink. The greeting and seagulls were added and the snorkel frog was fussy cut and added on top. I also used the sand ink and splatter bg on the tan panel. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used.

  • Summer Cranes

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

Congrats to Susan, today’s Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS277)! I chose her lovely Brayered Sympathy to case. I kept the layout but made my oval a frame instead of a layer. And I also used a brayer for my background but changed the colors and images.

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

The image is new from DRS Designs and I used a brayer and two rainbow pads to create my background before I stamped the cranes.  I masked the water area and used the Desert Heat ink pad on the top. This area was then masked and I used the Blue Breeze ink pad for the water.  I used a small acrylic paintbrush to apply bleach to the images to remove the color. After bleaching, I dried it quickly w/ the heat tool. The bleach has to be dry in order to use water based markers to add color back in. If the bleach isn’t dry, it will just continue to remove whatever color I try to add back in.

I die cut the largest petite oval in a piece of white cardstock and used it for the frame. The little summer sun was cut out of a larger image and colored. A few highlights were added on the water using a white gel pen. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Memorial Day!
