A fun, sparkly shaker card to celebrate the holidays, a birthday or New Year’s. Glitter was used for the shaker so it’s not bulky and shouldn’t take extra postage. Some step by step pics show you the process & it doesn’t require any special supplies.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC937) we are visiting Catch My Party & their Pinterest Board where I found THIS picture for my inspiration. The colors and the sparkle really caught my eye.

I first created the large background using a 2 part Bokeh stencil and some light green & teal inks. Some paler, larger circles were added using a white pigment ink. After making sure this was completely dry, I put one of the stencils back onto the background & sponged some silver ink here & there, in some of the smallest circles, then embossed this w/ silver ep. For the shaker element, I die cut the shapes into the turquoise rectangle, then did the same to 2 pieces of cardboard. A separate glass was die cut in grass green & inserted the outline into the opening. I used a piece of cellophane packaging (like those that clear stamps or embellishments come in) & attached this to the back of the turquoise piece before attaching the 2 piece of cardboard on top of it.

Below is the back. I’ve already filled the bottle area & attached a piece of white card stock over it to seal it.

This is how the front looks at this point.

I put some chunky glitter inside the opening of the glass, then attached another piece of white over it. The front side of the white cover was lightly sponged w/ the green & teal inks to give it a color. You can see that below.

Here is the right side, all finished.

The greeting was stamped, & the shaker element was attached to the Bokeh background. I glued some of the larger pieces of the glitter, here & there on the Bokeh bg for some additional sparkle.

    Thanks
    so much for stopping by!

  • Grateful Autumn

A fall sunflower & leaf bouquet in bright autumn colors with gold embossed outlines. Since the images are layered flowers, you only have to ink the layers to get the colors filled in. The flowers & leaves have matching dies making this an easy card that only looks hard to do.

It’s my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge (IC931) & I chose the quilting/sewing supply shop named RebsFabStash & their Pinterest Board. THIS lovely fabric was the inspiration for my autumn card. I used 3 sets of flowers, 1 set of leaves & random dot bg images for my gold embossed card. All of the flowers & leaf outlines were gold embossed then put back into the Misti. These flowers are all layered images so I inked the different layers w/ the autumn colors to fill in the flower petals. For the leaves, I smooshed the ink onto an acrylic block, picked the color up w/ a water brush then painted them in. I used the matching dies for all of these & die cut an extra little leaf out of the same brushed gold paper I used to layer the black on. The tiny greeting was black embossed onto this leaf.

Some of the flowers & leaves were popped up for a little dimension.

  • Santa Gnomes

A Christmas card featuring a pair of cute little Santa Gnomes on an envelope fold flap. Quick & easy to make w/ the coordinating images & dies. Switch up the  papers for many looks.

A big congrats to MariLynn, the newest Featured Stamper (FS857)! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the embossed snowflakes & winter theme, but I changed most everything else: different colors, images, dies & changed up the layout.

After coloring & die cutting the cute gnomes, I die cut the printed paper, first w/ a stitched rectangle, then I used part of another die for the envelope like flap. The paper is double sided, so the pointed flap green section is the back side of the Christmas print. I cut a smaller piece of white & used a snowflake embossing folder on it before attaching it to the green layer.

In case you want to see how I did the partial die cut of the envelope flap, here are a couple of pictures.

I placed the pointed die where I wanted to cut the rectangle. Since the rest of the die is the same size as the stitched rectangle, I knew it wouldn’t cut anywhere else. I placed the top plate just as far as it needed to go to cut the envelope like flap.

This is the finished cut. I later decided I wanted this pointy edge to be stitched as well, so I lined up the corner of a stitched die & ran it thru just on the edge. The gnomes & snowflake were popped up w/ foam.

Here are the Copics I used:
