Santa’s Sleigh

Today I have a very bright, jolly Christmas card featuring Santa’s sleigh, filled with presents. It’s backed with a cheerful Christmas stripe paper and a half stamped, half die cut greeting. This card was a lot of fun to make!

For the Inspiration Challenge, we are visiting The Primitive Pineapple & their Pinterest Boards. I was inspired by THIS picture & I knew I had just the dies to make it.

I used a brushed gold & bright red for the sleigh & presents, along w/ a little Christmas green for some of them. Santa’s bags & hat were die cut out of a sheet of red, flocked felt & the fur parts were cut out of a sheet of white, glitter felt, I glued them to card stock before die cutting them to make them not so flimsy. The felt gives a nice, velvety texture to these items. For the greeting, I die cut a series of rectangles & frames using rectangle dies. Half the greeting was stamped & the Merry was die cut out of white & the shadow out of a dk green & white polka dot paper. The sleigh is popped up for dimension.

Jolly Reindeer

A fun little Christmas card with a couple of adorable little reindeer and stenciled holly background. I love using kraft colored paper and Prismas or Copics on it. The color of the paper was perfect for this reindeer and I didn’t have add much color to them.

A big congrats to sawyerbean, the newest Featured Stamper (FS916)! She has a fabulous gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout because I loved the narrow little framing & the animal outside the frame, but I used different images, colors, dies & stenciled my background.

I loved the look of her paper center, but i don’t have anything like that, so I decided to use a 3 part holly stencil. Then the idea came to me to try it on kraft. It looked good so that’s the direction I went. I used a couple of reds, a couple of greens & the darkest grey for the holly. The reindeer were also done on kraft. I used a combination of a few Copics & a few Prismacolor pencils to color them in, then die cut them w/ their coordinating dies. I used a bunch of rectangle dies to make the series of frames & center for my greeting. The frame, the center & the reindeer were all popped up to give it some dimension.

Merry Stocking

A fun, easy to make Christmas card using a wonderful stocking die cut and pretty snowflake paper. Die cut this sweet stocking out of different papers to change it up and this would be easy to make a bunch of cards in a hurry.

For the Inspiration Challenge we are visiting Over the Moon & their Pinterest Board. I was inspired by THIS red & white Christmas stocking,

My card is pretty easy. I chose this wonderful red & white snowflake paper, die cut the background out of it then die cut the white panel to go on top. Since the white panel would cover a good portion of the background, i postioned the main stocking body to cut it in the hidden area. The greeting was stamped in the upper right, then I used Brilliance Platinum to stamp snowflakes across the greeting panel. It’s very subtle but adds a nice touch, The stocking parts were put together then I popped the whole stocking up for dimension.
