How about blending various mediums on your craft sheet and created a unique background? Fall is Near simply, allows your creativity to flow! Fall is Near, lovely as a card or consider putting it in a frame! With Christmas right around the corner, can be used as a manly gift for that special someone in your life!

For my card, I stamped the image with permanent black ink onto watercolor paper.  I used a combination of reinkers and markers to watercolor the image. Highlights were added with a white gel pen.  The lt blue frame was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and I cut the inside out and attached over the image.  The embossing was highlighted with a white Permapaque pen. Two butterflies were colored, cut out and attached. I used markers directly on the sentiment image before stamping. I added a little outline with a dark  blue gel pen.

    Background Series: Ledger/Nature Silhouette III

Lately, have you noticed all the lovely Ledger design paper at your local stamp store? Well, now you can create a ton of lovely backgrounds on your cards and even in a mini book with this lovely Ledger image!

The Creative Architects were challenged to incorporate some of the images from both of these lines on our card. Moreover, Nature Silhouette III bodes well with Nature Silhouette I/II.

A little tip from Betsy: Use caution, but you can cut apart each of the images on the Hollyhock Shadow stamp and place them on your acrylic mount and arrange to your liking, then stamp away!

For my card, I white embossed the Hollyhock Shadow onto a large shipping tag then sponged on three colors of distress inks.  I tore the side and bottom of the tag and used scissors and ink to further distress them. A portion of a punched fence was also sponged and added to the bottom. The white layer was embossed with a grid pattern embossing folder (Tim Holtz/Sizzix line). I distressed the edges all around.  I used a ticket corner punch and some sheer tissue ticket tape to create the small ticket in the upper right and tucked it into a tiny white envelope. You can see more of this tape across the center of the card.

For the background, I white embossed the ledger then sponged on the distress inks as before. The little sentiment was also white embossed onto inked c/s and cut out.  The little butterfly was cut out and popped up with a little foam tape. Finished card measures 4.25 x 5.50 (A2).

  • ISC June Release Day 4

Ever find yourself in awe of Butterflies?

Take Flight, is just mesmerizing, it was designed to give your project or card a 3D effect! We were encouraged by Betsy to use the wooden-frame from ISC Fruitful sheet or create our own on the design below.

    Julie Warner - justwritedesigns https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/

Isn’t this a beautiful image? I love the tree trunk with all the butterflies and it fits so perfectly inside the frame. After stamping the image, I colored it with a combination of reinkers and markers. I stamped the butterflies again, colored them, cut them out and attached them on top of the originals with foam tape under one wing for a little lift. The frame was done on a separate piece of c/s, colored the same way and cut out. I wanted the picture to be a little recessed so I  made two more card board frames, cut them out and attached my frame on top.

For the teal half layer, I stamped it with the Canvas Background and the calypso ink. For the lt green layer, I used a cuttlebug folder first, then stamped Little Specks background with leaf ink. Since it was already embossed, the image is mostly on the raised portions only. After cutting out the sentiment with an oval die, I attached it to two pieces I cut using one element of the Symbology 1 die. I used markers to edge all the layers.
