  • All is Calm

A monochromatic winter scene Christmas card, all stamped on one layer and parts of the scene were cut into the window and a piece of hand marbled paper inserted inside, with the greeting & a Christmas star stamped on top.

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC936), we are visiting the Christmas Shop & their Pinterest Board where I chose THIS picture for my inspiration.

For my little winter scene, I stamped the trees onto a white panel, using denim ink. On the lighter trees, I stamped the image off once before stamping it onto the card stock. The darker trees were stamped twice (using the Misti) w/ the same ink, full strength. I wanted the deer a little darker so I used Versaclair medieval blue. I used my into the window die cutting technique to cut the opening in the scene. The framed scene part was spritzed w/ some white shimmer spray & I added a little more “snow” w/ a white Posca pen. The outside frame was popped up then I inserted a piece of hand marbled paper w/ the greeting & Christmas star stamped on top of it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Teal Season

A white & teal snowy Christmas card. So easy to make w/ just a few dies, a little white splatter for snow & a simple greeting. Change the colors & make a stack of them for Christmas.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS863), so a big congrats to Sue! She has a gorgeous gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS card to case. I kept the color combo, but I used different dies, different stamps & used a die cut bg instead of a stamped one.

My card started w/ a paver cover die I cut once out of white & again out of turquoise then attached them offset. I added another layer behind out of heavy card in order to have it stand up a bit off the card front. I die cut the white trees & 2 teal layers. On the top one, I spritzed it w/ a white shimmer spray, then spattered it w/ a white Posca pen to get the various bright white dots. I also used it to add a narrow white edge to the layer before attaching it to the solid teal layer. The 5 trees were attached across the bottom w/ the single tree popped up on top.

I had a narrow strip of white where I stamped the greeting, then took the flag end of a tag die & cut both ends of the strip. This is also popped up a bit on top of the teal panel.

  • Gold Glitter Trees

A very glittery, gold Christmas card featuring some die cut trees & greeting. Easy to make w/ lots of impact. Change the paper or colors & you’ll have a bunch of finished Christmas cards in no time.

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge (FS858) so a big congrats to Vikki! She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the gold trio element & horizontal layout, but I used trees instead of leaves, added a layer of designer paper & a die cut greeting instead of a stamped one.

For my glittery gold trees, I used a roll of glittery gold wrapping paper & attached to plain card stock before die cutting the trees & Merry out of it.  There is one larger tree, but it was too tall to fit this direction so I used 1 medium & 2 small trees instead.  I attached them to a piece of ivory card stock, then attached this to a larger piece of green print paper w/ a very narrow ivory frame behind it. I die cut of the shadows for the Merry greeting..one in ivory & one in dk green. The Merry is attached as normal on top of the ivory. The dk green shadow was offset a bit to add some contrast.

The center tree & greeting were popped up to add some dimension & interest.

    Thanks
