Today, I have an impossible fold card that is really easy to make. And with all the little surfaces to decorate, you will have a blast using it. All the work is done for you, just select your papers and the die set does everything for you. For the instructions, click the link at the bottom under the Impossible Fold die & it will take you to the product where you can watch the video. The hardest part about this card is trying to photograph it.

For the Inspiration Challenge IC1036 we are visiting Selfridges where I was inspired by THIS dress. I liked the graphic look of the teal with the black.

As this was a little hard to photograh, I took a few extra to show the different angles. It does fold flat for mailing & the little center rectangle stands up. I die cut the card base with the impossible fold die out of heavy white. Included in the die set are the main panels & all the layers to go with them. The main layers were cut out of white & all the backing layers cut out of black. I cut 2 extra of the long panel. After using the inks & blending brushes on all the top panels, I put the large silhouette image into the Misti & positioned the top, color blended layers where I wanted them to be. Then they were all stamped w/ Versclair nocturne. The greeting is on the long front panel & the extra one I put more of the scene across it & attached it to the back. This isn’t shown in the video, it was something I added to make it a little more sturdy. You can see just a section of it in the pic above, going between the right & left back panels.

From the side, you can see how it looks, laying flat with the center panel popped up.

Above is an alternate view, showing how it looks flattened, to put in the envelope. I hope you give this a try, it really is a lot of fun!
    Thanks
    so much for stopping by!

Today, I have a fun little Halloween for the adult crowd. Halloween cocktails are always fun to do and this new set of Halloween Greetings dies had the perfect one to go with it. This would fit the bill if you’re planning a little Halloween party and want to make a few fun invites.

A big congrats to Deb, the newest Featured Stamper FS974. She has a super fun little gallery and I chose THIS card to case. I kept the Halloween cocktail theme & colors, but I didn’t have a martini glass so I used a margarita glass, turned it vertical & moved the greeting.

To make my spooky cocktail, I die cut the margarita glass out of shiny black cardboard, attached a piece of almost clear vellum & a lt green, both cut with the insert part of the dies. The candy corn garnishes are actually the strawberry part of the dies, colored w/ an orange & yellow marker then attached to the black stir stick. A little bat was added to the other end. I added a larger piece of vellum behind them for the back of the glass. The finished glass is attached to  double stacked rounded stitch squares, one purple, one white & both popped up an extra layer. I had just this piece of designer paper left from using the rest of the opposite side on another card & the colors & size were just right.

A large orange layer is attached behind it & I used the same orange to make the long strip for the greeting with the longest of the offset tag dies. I cut almost to the end, flipped it around & cut the other end, omitting the pointy flag end of the die. For the die cut greeting, I used the same thick, shiny black card board to cut it. Since the card board is fairly thick, it stayed inside instead of falling out. So I put a piece of low tack washi tape across the front, dotted the back of the letters w/ glue then attached it to the orange strip. I let it dry a bit, then carefully peeled off the excess around the words. Worked great & kept everything lined up & in place!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Halloween cards are so fun to make. You can use fun colors, images and some sparkle never hurts. This card uses all of those and is not hard or complicated. Only the little hippo was colored and the twig background & greeting dies were heat embossed with glitter powder.

It’s my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge and we are visiting Craftsy Hacks & her Pinterest Boards. I was inspired by some of her Halloween crafts boards. In particular THIS one.

After coloring & die cutting the cute little hippo, I popped him one layer. Going thru my stash of backgrounds, I came across some wide strips of a brayered background in oranges & yellows. The strips were actually brayered on a bright yellow card stock, so the brightest color is just the true color showing thru. These aren’t even full backgrounds, just strips. I put 3 together with colors not in line with each other. I liked the way they’re mixed around. I taped them on the back then cut it big enough to fit behind the black die cut twig cover. The black glitter embossing powder was still out from last week, so I  covered the twig cover w/ Versamark & embossed it. The little arches were cut & the bottoms trimmed to size. The black one also has the edges glitter embossed, as well as the die cut greeting. The little bats were die cut out of some scraps of the glitter embossed black. The embossed twig bg wanted to curl a bit so I added cardboard twig layer behind it to give it strength. All I had to do then was put it all together.

Here are the Copics I used on the cute Hippo.
