Except for the stamped greeting, this card is entirely die cut and paper pieced. For those of you who love paper piecing and scene building, this die set would make an awesome addition to your collection. Change the colors and make it winter, spring or summer. Add or take away elements to make it your own and your friends and family will be amazed when they receive it.
A big congrats to Kris, the newest Featured Stamper FS977! She has small, but growing gallery & I chose THIS card to case. It started out to be a case, but I was carried away & about the only thing they have in common now is a building & some trees. My version took a turn somewhere & ended up a lot different. I’m sure y’all know how that goes.
To make my farm scene, I die cut all the pieces & parts out of mostly fall colors. I had a kraft colored deckle frame just sitting there & I liked how it looked w/ this. I added a very narrow frame of ivory on top of it to brighten it up a bit. There was a lot of dry fitting w/ this because I had a lot of elements & a limited space to put them. I also complicated it a bit by having that one tree on the right partially on top of the frame. All the pieces were individually put together then the scene was built starting with the green hills. I didn’t attach them fully along the top edges of the hills so I could stick the trees & corn stalks in there. The tree on the right was glued to the top edge of the frame, then carefully I slid the trunk behind the barn when I put the frame on top. The frame is popped up another layer, as is the greeting tag & the tractor.
