  • Watercolor Geraniums

A quick, but kinda fancy birthday card featuring a new geranium set & new, fancy die. I used some Peerless watercolor sheets to paint the geraniums.

A big congrats to Christine, the newest Featured Stamper (FS842)! She has a fabulous gallery full of gorgeous florals & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the circular flower element but used a stamped & watercolored floral instead of die cut flowers. I also used different dies, colors & changed mine to an A6 card instead of square.

After stamping the geraniums onto watercolor paper, I used a couple of paintbrushes & Peerless watercolor booklet to paint them. Had to do a little out of the box when I die cut them to keep from cutting off the leaves on the right. The large, fancy circular die was used on some maroon paper. After I cut it, I liked the way it looked when I put it back inside the cutout, so I used this way.

For the Happy Birthday, I used the big Happy & the small Birthday, stamped them w/ a combo of Versaclair Glamorous & Purple Delight to get the color I wanted, then die cut them. The greeting & flower circle were popped up a bit.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Wide World

For the Inspiration Challenge (IC903), we are visiting Meadow Blu & their Pinterest Board. I used THIS picture for my inspiration. I liked all the colors in the floral pillow.

My card started w/ the pretty flower set & after coloring, I fussy cut it & popped it up a bit. The white layer was die cut w/ a new rectangle die & the greeting was stamped below. I had to trim off the lower part of the flower stem in order to not cover the words. I added a cobalt blue layer behind it then one of the pretty papers for the largest layer.

I love the greeting..it’s encouraging & reminds me that there’s a whole wide world out there beyond my little cul-de-sac.

Here are the Copics I used on the flowers:

  • Sunflower Mosaic

Cheerful sunflower card w/ a mosaic background die cut out of paint chips. Lots more pics & a hint for doing this.
For the Inspiration Challenge (IC901), we’re visiting a Pinterest Board of Crafty Morning, where I was inspired by the technique in THIS video & also by the picture of THIS sunflower bouquet.

So, I pulled out a box of paint chips I have & selected some colors I liked. I used a die that cuts multiple circles to save a little time. The variegated paint chip colors were glued to a white bg in an attempted ray pattern. It’s not perfect, but I like the colors spreading out like they do.

The sunflower is a layered set, so very easy to stamp the outline, then fill in the colors w/ the solid layers. I made 2 of them then die cut them. One was used for the top flower & the second one I cut apart, popping up the center on top of the 1st flower, & the petals were attached underneath.

These are the little bins w/ all the circles cut out of the paint chips.

The first few paint chips, I wasted some time trying to poke all the circles out. The paint chips are thick & have a coating of some sort so most of the circles tended to stay in place. When I stopped poking them out, I found it was much easier to keep them in place & poke out the colors in order I wanted to use them. Worked out much better this way!
