Amazing Daisies

It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC809) this week & we’re headed to a blog called Sumcoco. They also have a lovely & very crafty Pinterest Board where I found THIS picture.

For my daisies card, I had already stamped & colored my daisies & leaves as a group, so I fussy cut them then added them to a cutaway rectangle I die cut. Then I did a version of the eclipse technique w/ the YOU die. I die cut it directly out of the flower & white area, then added it on top of the shadow portion of the die (cut out of white). I also die cut 3 more of the YOU part to stack under the flower version to give it a little dimension. Also notice that I put back the insert pieces of the YOU that are usually discarded. I like that the white shadow die cut added a bit of separation between the flower & the die cut word.  You can see the steps I did in the pic below.

For the background, I used a repeating brick wall stencil & the pink & green inks to make it. Since the pink & green are opposite colors they don’t blend well, so I kept them fairly separate in order to avoid making the colors muddy.
This pic below is my practice sheet. For me, it helps to work out the colors I might want to use ahead of time. It’s just on copy paper & done pretty quickly. You can see I went w/ the top color combo but I’m saving this sheet because I’ll want to try the second, blue combo later.

Here are the Copics I used:
