A big congrats to Jennifer (aka Jingle), the newest Featured Stamper (FS396) on Splitcoast! She has such a fun gallery and I chose This to case. I kept the black & white city scene & layout but I added a layer, a few touches of red and a die cut greeting.

Actually, no stamps were used on this card. I loved the fun city outline Jennifer used, but I didn’t have anything like that. I did have black c/s and a white gel pen 🙂 So I quickly sketched my little skyscrapers w/ the white gel pen ( a little wonky, but that’s ok) and added a little red heart because I wanted a little red here & there. I also added the bits of red to the designer paper behind it.

    Seashell Summer 04290

Well, this is one of those cards that the idea was different than the result. It also is prettier IRL..so sparkly and not anywhere near as dark as it is the pics. And somewhere along the line, the paper piecing part totally got lost. Maybe we can call the stamping and fussy cutting of all those shells as paper piecing 🙂 I have some packages of coated glitter sticker card stock and this particular sheet was silver. I added the blues & greens with Copics then stamped the shells and palm tree with Ancient Page on top. I had to color then stamp because the ink and Copics don’t work together if I do it the other way around and Memento won’t stick to the coating. I did briefly heat set the ink just to be safe. The frame was die cut out of glittery designer paper with a gray patterned sheet behind it w/ the greeting stamped on it. I added some small punched circles of the same colored glitter paper inside the frame.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please be sure to visit and comment on all the Summer inspiration cards from the DT.

This month we also have a special guest designer!

    Bday Doily 04438
On my first card, I stamped the lovely doily image from Doily Blessings using a combo of the olive & pine inks then added color with Copics. I used the large doily outline die to cut it & added a peach “button” in the center using the smallest die of the set. The backing layers were cut w/ square die then embossed w/ fancy square die. The peach square layer was also stamped w/ the flower image from the Ornate Borders & Flowers images using the rose ink. It’s not really discernible, but adds a nice color variation to the layer. I stamped the flower again on white and stamped the greeting on top using the pine ink before die cutting w/ the matching flower die.

The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50 and these are the Copics I used.

For my second card, I die cut the beautiful doily out of some handmade ivory paper I’ve had for a long time. I die cut the center out of the ivory and again out of the dp and added the little flower centers of the navy dp into the ivory version. The dp was cut first with a matting basics die then w/ a curved border die and added on top of more of the handmade ivory paper. The bottom portion that was cut off was turned over (it’s double sided paper) and attached on the bottom. The greeting was stamped in the open section ( I had to mask off part as it wouldn’t fit). The knitting basket & yarn images were stamped, lightly colored w/ Copics and die cut w/ the matching dies.
