Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs April 1 Release Blog Hop!

Julie Warner - justwritedesigns - https://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com

For my card, I’m using the new Francis of Assisi and Cat Sympathy.  I stamped part of the Francis of Assisi image around the sentiment (from Cat Sympathy), colored it with markers and die cut with a Spellbinders classic oval.  For the embossed white background, I used two embossing folders. First I used the one w/ the little bird then cut cardboard in the shape of the wreath (to keep it from embossing over the bird) and embossed again using the wreath folder. The corners were rounded and I added some black enamel dots to two corners. The black background was also embossed using a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder. I died the white ribbon using the Neptune ink pad. The finished card is 4.50 x 6.25 (A6).

Thanks so much for visiting…

Oh my word this is such a beautiful card. I started to cry just looking at it. Yesterday was my beloved baby’s birthday. He’s been gone 16 years now but some days it stills feel like yesterday. His name was Bourbon and he was a border collie. He lived to 18 years. Thanks for making such an amazing card. God Bless!

    What a beautiful, thoughtful card!
I got my first pet when I moved into my first apt. She was a sweet Terrier/Dauschand mix and was a great friend until she passed a few years ago. I still think of her often.

  • Alison H:

Brill combination of techniques I love the texture and the masking of to get the animals love the card

  • Mary C:

This is a really beautiful card. A few years ago we lost our beloved Dusty, a black lab, the vet we use sent us a sympathy card which I saved. It had the sweetest verse. I also have pics of Dusty with her favorite stuffed animal, a rabbit. We buried Dusty here on our farm and placed a stone in memory of her. Most people would not think to send a sympathy card. But anyone who has had a pet would know they are a family memaber and it hurts to lose them.

  • Wonderful card.I can see that these stamp sets would come in handy, what with all the pet-owning friends I have.

  • Marcia:

I love the idea of pet sentiment cards. We received many beautiful cards when our beloved Pooch passed away. Yours is beautiful.

  • Kelle:

Cool concept, Julie! Love the framing, and your background piece is so pretty too!
