A fun birthday card with a nautical theme in patriotic colors. Great for a masculine birthday, a birthday near a holiday like July 4th, or anyone who loves seafaring images. Easy to change out the colors to customize to your preference. I think it would look terrific in smokey blues with sand colored accents.
It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS906) so a big congrats to Tanya! She has big, beautiful gallery full of fun scrap pages & lovely cards. I chose THIS card to case. I liked the layout & nautical theme so I kept those. I used different images, dies, a die cut boat instead of a stamped one & two stenciled backgrounds instead of designer paper.
After die cutting the boat, waves & little frames, I popped up the boat & frame & put it all together. I Â used an anchor & star stencil on the navy panel. The anchors were stenciled w/ the darkest of the blue ink set & I used a white pigment ink for the stars. The red was done w/ the sailboat stencil & dark red ink & white pigment for the waves. Â I liked the white torn edge on Tanya’s but my paper wasn’t white core so I rubbed the white ink over the torn edge. The two panels were married together on top of a white panel & die cut w/ the largest stitched rectangle die. The greeting was added onto a little tag.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
