Noel Poinsettia

Today I have an easy Christmas card in slightly lighter colors than the traditonal red and green. The poinsettia, half layer, and greeting die were cut from the same color blended background so they would all match. You could also try a blended background under a white half ornament layer. It looks great either way!

For the Inspiration Challenge IC1027, we are visiting Macy’s & their Pinterest Board. I was inspired by THIS picture. I really liked those shades of pink & green together.

To make my Christmas card, I took a white piece of cardstock, the pink & green inks & some blending brushes. I started with pinks at the top and greens on the bottom. The lightest of each was blended to almost halfway, then darker shades were added closer to the top & bottom edges. I left just a tad of white in the center because these colors are opposites and do not play together very well. A little overlap of the palest shades would not be too bad, but otherwise the result will not be very pretty. Then the half layer was die cut as well as the poinsettia petals & leaves. I added a few dark green leaves & a few dk rose petals for better contrast. The center dots of the poinsettia were cut out of metallic gold. The poinsettia, greeting & half layer were all popped up one more layer.

Thanks
so much for stopping by!
