The Ways to Use It Challenge (WT535), has us heading west & using a cowboy theme in honor of John Wayne. I have this cute little cowpoke & silhouette riders so this is my western theme card.
Saddle Up 04372
After stamping, coloring and fussy cutting the little cowboy, I added him to a white frame I stamped w/ just the rope portion of the image. For the inside area, I sponged on yellows, oranges & a bit of red at the top, then stamped the silhouette cowboys & the stars in a combination of sky blue and soft pool because I wanted them visible, but not so dark that the greeting wouldn’t show up well when I stamped it on top.

The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25 and these are the Copics I used to color the cute little cowboy.

  1. This is a very cute card – I am a newbie in copic coloring and could you please share with me what copic colors you used to color the little cowboy’s face? Thank you.

  2. Hi Audrey,
In answer to your question about the colors used on the face, from looking at the picture of the Copics, I can tell I used the following:
    E00 Skin White
    E21 Baby Skin Pink
    E13 Light Suntan
    E95 Flesh Pink

the other colors in the E range were used for the hat, horse & boots. Generally, I start w/ the lightest color first (E00) & add a very light layer over the entire face. The E21, E95 are added to shadow areas and a little of the E95 is added to the cheeks. The E13 is added to the deepest shadows then I lightly blend over it all w/ the E00 again.

    Hope this helps!
