I have another Sneak Peak of the Floral Release coming 3/26/25. This time it’s a large, floral background set. This image would be awesome if the flowers were individually colored, but I kept my clean & simple by creating a brayered background to add color. You could also try it over any leftover backgrounds you have or do a black & white. Endless choices for this lovely image.

A big congrats to Darlene, the newest Featured Stamper FS946! She has a super gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS card to case. I kept the big floral background w/ a simple greeting, but I used different images, different colors, turned mine vertical & left off a layer,

To make my background, I used a piece of glossy card, a little brayer & a selection of little ink pads. I started w/ the yellow at the top & brayered it about 1/3 of the way down. Then added a little of the apricot on top of the lower part of the yellow. Then the 2 bright pinks, followed by the purple at the bottom. Since it’s glossy, you just have roll over it a few time to get good coverage & remove any streaks. I let it dry for a few minutes, then used the embossing buddy over it before putting it into my Misti & stamping w/ Versaclair. Since it’s a big image, I repeated this in any areas that didn’t look dark enough. I knew the Versaclair would not dry totally on the glossy, so I heat embossed it w/ clear powder. It was die cut w/ the largest stitched rectangle & to make sure the embossing didn’t flake off the edges, I used the heat tool around where it was cut. The greeting was stamped, die cut & I added a peach colored band behind it that I used an edger die on, & put the cutaway portion of one but in black, down the center. A few rhinestones were added here & there.

    Thanks
so much for stopping by! Hope to see you at the IG Release Hop. (You will be able to find it at @brassandblisscraftco or on my account @julie_justwritedesigns on Instagram, Wed morning 3/26/25.)

  • Hello Friend

Posted on March 21, 2025 9:41 PM by Julie Comment

And hello Spring! Some flowers are blooming now and others are getting there as the first day of Spring officially arrives. This is a sneak peak of a fabulous Floral release scheduled for next Wednesday (3/2/25) and we will have a hop over on IG (instagram) you won’t want to miss! My bright floral card is not at all hard to make & the bright colors really pop against the black of the background.

For the Inspiration Challenge IC1007, we are visiting Dutch Bulbs & their Pinterest Board. THIS picture of bright flowers was my inspiration. I took the plastic sheet the stamps come on & used the printed image to put on top of various backgrounds to see what would look good against the black. I came across a little square w/ bright colors brayered onto it. It wasn’t big enough, so I got the rainbow pads I’m pretty sure I used, & made a larger background. Then I positioned the image around to see what I liked best, put the image & the background into my Misti & stamped it several times w/ the Versaclair nocturne to get good coverage.

Here is a picture of the brayered background I made. As you can see, it’s not perfect or arranged in any way. It’s just bright colors brayered on in a haphazard manner. No need to get too precise as only the colors will show through.

This is how it looked after I stamped it & die cut it w/ the coordinating die. Using the printed plastic sheet makes it easy to see where to stamp it. Since there was a lot of black ink on it, I used a heat tool to dry it before I die cut it.

The image was layered onto a piece of card board for a little elevation, before adding a peach & narrow black mat behind it. The greeting was stamped, die cut & I also used the greeting die to cut 2 out of black to use as a shadow above & below.

Thanks so much for looking. Hope to see you at the IG Release Hop. (You will be able to find it at @brassandblisscraftco or on my account @julie_justwritedesigns on Instagram, Wed morning 3/26/25.)

  • Bee Day

Posted on March 15, 2025 9:40 PM by Julie Comment

This is a bright, sunshiny yellow birthday card with a chubby little bumblebee. I love that she has those long, flirty eyelashes. That really makes my day! I paired her with some bee paper and a popped up cover die that I trimmed down a bit.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge FS945 so a big congrats to Rebekka! She has a terrific gallery & I picked THIS card to case. I kept the sunny yellow & the holey die on top, but I used stamped & colored images instead of die cuts & I used designer paper & added a greeting.

To make my card, after coloring & die cutting the bee & flowers, I die cut the Round Petal cover die once out of the bright honey color, twice out of cardboard & once out of white. I used a plain rectangle die to trim them down & remove the outside frame. All of the layers were stacked together to really elevate it off of the background. The trimmed off frame part didn’t go to waste, it was attached behind the designer paper. The bee, greeting & the center flower are also popped up one more layer.

Here are the Copics I used:
