Bee Day


This is a bright, sunshiny yellow birthday card with a chubby little bumblebee. I love that she has those long, flirty eyelashes. That really makes my day! I paired her with some bee paper and a popped up cover die that I trimmed down a bit.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge FS945 so a big congrats to Rebekka! She has a terrific gallery & I picked THIS card to case. I kept the sunny yellow & the holey die on top, but I used stamped & colored images instead of die cuts & I used designer paper & added a greeting.

To make my card, after coloring & die cutting the bee & flowers, I die cut the Round Petal cover die once out of the bright honey color, twice out of cardboard & once out of white. I used a plain rectangle die to trim them down & remove the outside frame. All of the layers were stacked together to really elevate it off of the background. The trimmed off frame part didn’t go to waste, it was attached behind the designer paper. The bee, greeting & the center flower are also popped up one more layer.
