A big congrats to Denise, the newest Featured Stamper (FS579) on Splitcoast! She has a lovely little gallery & I chose THIS to case. I love the vibrant blue so I kept I kept that & most of the layout. I used different images, turned it horizontal & moved the greeting,
This is also for the Ways to Use It Challenge (WT678), to use bleach. I actually love using bleach on card stock…w/ all the different brands & colors, you never know exactly what you’ll get. For this, I stamped this southwest pot image w/ bleach onto the cobalt blue c/s. I was pleasantly surprised to see it turned a lovely turquoise color when bleached. The strip on the side was simply sprayed w/ bleach. After fussy cutting the pot, I used a lg bg die to emboss the turquoise panels then added a double stitched circle frame & some sequins & strips of paper for grasses.

Here’s a look at the inside.

Just for grins, I sprayed a bunch of different colors of c/s  to see what bleach would do. Here are my results. (Click any pic to enlarge. If there’s a solid piece next to it, that was the original color.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Aloha Surfboards cu 06972 It’s day 2 of Dare to Get Dirty on Splitcoast and this is for MY (justwritedesigns) Challenge! The details are HERE, but you’ll need to be a Fan Club member…it’s easy, just click to find out how.

Aloha Surfboards 06971 I had a lot of fun making this card. It’s just my style..fun, enough detail to keep me interested, a little coloring, a little fussy cutting & colorful! I started with the background. After masking off the water area, I sponged in the very orange sky using a cloud stencil I made w/ scallop scissors on a piece of acetate. The little seagulls were stamped & I used a white gel pen on the big one. The mask was reversed to cover the sky then I sponged in the water & added the highlights. I added just a touch of sand color at the very bottom. (The palm tree was also stamped on the background as well as the frame.)

Then I stamped, colored & fussy cut the surfboards. The top palm tree is actually part of the white frame. A little technique I call “into the window” and here’s a short tutorial showing how I did it. After stamping the palm tree where I wanted it & coloring it, I first die cut the large, outer frame, then determined the areas around the palm tree I would have to cut in order to slip the corner of the die under it. It turned out to be almost all of it, lol. There are actually only 2 places where the tree is still attached to the frame. (Click any pic to make it larger.)

Please pay no attention to my blue tipped fingernails, lol. That always happens when I sponge images. The inside frame die is in place & with the corner under the tree, I ran it thru the Big Shot.

Aloha Surfboards palm tree finished 06968 All die cut & embossed! I cut 2 more heavy frames & used a little foam tape to elevate the frame & surfboards above the background.

And here’s a look at the inside. More sponging & I left off a greeting for now. Have to decide who it’s going to!

Big day today! It’s the third Thursday so it’s time for another Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge. And it’s also the 15th, so it’s a new Dirty Dozen Gallery at Splitcoast. And with the 3 day, Mon-Wed ISC Blog Hop,  and my Wed. post as a Guest Designer for DRS, this has been one busy week!

kobayashi This week, Lori chose this fabric swatch for our inspiration. At first this was a little hard for me to get a handle on since it’s an all over pattern with no real focal point. So I finally decided to start w/ the very fall like colors. And I wanted to try and incorporate the Wed. SCS Sketch Challenge.

Weekly-Favorite

For my Fall Sketch card, I stamped the bg (you can barely see it since I covered most of it up, lol), w/ a leaf spray image (Inkadinkado) and the Kpad on tan c/s. The narrow panels and greeting panel (both SG) were stamped on separate tan c/s and edged w/ a maker.  On the large tan panel, I stamped the row of dots (The Stamps of Life)  across the top and used a leaf border punch across the bottom. I also used a small dots image (RST) and soft sand ink across the entire panel. I repeated the punch on the leaf panel underneath it.

A very narrow rust strip was added behind my three narrow panels and a small piece of punched olive c/s was added to the bottom of the greeting panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please visit the rest of the team. I know they’ll have some wonderful eye candy for you!
