A big congrats to Joanne, the newest Featured Stamper (FS547) on Splitcoast! She has such a wonderful gallery & after much browsing, I chose THIS to case. I kept the tropical sunset theme but used different images, added more colors & left off the flowers/framing.
This scene reminds me somewhat of sitting at Barbers Point in Hawaii. Except that the further row of palm trees obscures the runway to the airport, lol. It’s a little weird to be sitting there gazing at the boats on the water, then a plane rolls by on the line where the palm trees are…almost like it’s just another sailboat. I have a picture of that exact thing…somewhere.
I started by masking off a circle for the sun & a straight mask for the horizon & sponged on the water. Then I reversed the the horizon mask & sponged the sky & sun rays. After removing these masks, I sponged on the yellows for the sun. Then the fun began! I put the sponged panel into my Misti & stamped the palm trees & greeting. The seagulls were added & I used a white gel pen on them & here & there on the water.
Here’s a look at the inside.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
