A silhouette beach card for a best friend. Easy to make w/ this new palm tree die, a couple of stencils and some colorful ink.

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC916) we are visiting McGaw Graphics & their Pinterest Board. I used THIS picture for my inspiration.

My beachy card was made w/ some new die cuts, a couple of stencils and some ink. I die cut the beach scene w/ the boat, cloud, fence & chairs once out of black and twice out of white. I used a sunburst stencil for the sky part, by first sponging the yellows. Then I rotated the stencil to cover the yellow rays & sponged on the blue. When I removed the stencil, I added the yellows for the sun. I used a hill stencil to add the sand then reversed it, added a straight piece of paper to mask off the sky & sponged in the water. I added some puffy paint along the shore. The black die cuts were attached on top of the 2 white versions, w/ the white ones being offset on either side to add contrast.

  • Daisy Friend

A bright, hot pink daisies card w/ a white stenciled front & a greeting for that best friend. Sure to make her/him feel very special.

It’s my turn to host the Featured Stamper Challenge so a big congrats to Tammy! She has an amazing gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the 3 window cover & flowers, but used different images, dies, colors & turned mine horizontal.

My bright pink card started w/ the die cut cover w/ the 3 scallop square openings. I used a tree branch stencil & white pigment ink to add the pattern on the hot pink. The 2 sizes of daisies were stamped & since they’re a layered set, I used some pinks & an orange ink to stamp the inside colors then die cut them. I also used a mini slimline die to cut the white panel w/ the scallop w/ holes, then I used a stitched rectangle die (resized-made it longer) to cut it out. I added it on top of the pink windows then popped up the daisies inside.

The greeting was stamped directly on top of the stenciled panel. Stickles was added to the flower centers for a little sparkle.

    Thanks

  • Just Because

a “just because” card for a birthday, get well or just to say hi. Features a blue butterfly & split panel circle w/ die cut holographic leaves & flowers.

A big congrats to Kathy, the newest Featured Stamper (FS852). She has a big , beautiful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I liked the split panel circle in variegated shades & the butterfly w/ the die cut outline leaves, so I kept those. But I used different images, dies & colors & instead of gold I used holographic silver.

After I die cut the circle out of white, I laid strips of turquoise, teal & blue onto a piece of some Glad stick & seal wrap then die cut the same circle out of it. After peeling off the wrap, I cut the strips narrower to allow some white from the base circle to show through. The butterfly was colored w/ 3 Copics (BG07, BG10 & Bg23) & die cut. The leaves & flowers were die cut out of a silver holographic card stock & arranged under & on top of the circle.

I left most of the “insert” pieces inside the leaves just because. The circle was popped up w/ foam.
