It’s time for the Splitcoast Dare to Get Dirty Challenge, the Pandemic edition, & I made this for my challenge. You can find all the details for the challenges HERE. You’ll need to be a Fan Club Member, so click the blue link & find out how.
For my card, I used one of my favorite floral images. It’s stamped & colored w/ Copics, then I traced the outline of a square die around the image & did a little doodling before filling in the bg w/ a black Copic. It really makes those colors on the flower pop, doesn’t it? I had to use my out of the box die cutting technique when I ran it thru the die machine to keep from cutting off the leaves & petals.
The greeting was white embossed on black & I used a stitched tag die to cut it, but only used one end. I placed the die around the greeting, cut to the midway point, then flipped the die to other side & cut to the midway point from the other direction. A piece of black & white dp was added for the bg & the main image is popped up on fun foam.
Here are the Copics I used (one of the very few times I actually used that black Copic!):

Such wonderful pictures to chose from on the Splicoast Inspiration Challenge (IC762)! My inspiration was THIS picture of some people face vases w/ flowers on their heads.
Originally, this pretty lady had a wine glass in her hand, but after stamping, coloring & die cutting her, I cut the glass out & replaced it w/ the leaves of the rose image. I used the rest of the rose to make her a rather large fascinator, complete w/ a netting veil. I used a roll of netting that has glitter & sparkles embedded in it, so it’s really sparkly in real life. More of it is wrapped around the bg piece. The bg was first stamped w/ a few colors of pink & purple using a mini square bg.
These are the Copics I used on the lady. (All the BV’s were used for her hair.)
And these are the Copics I used for the rose.

I was so inspired by Doni’s gallery I made a second, very quick card for the Featured Stamper this week (FS364). This time I cased THIS card of Doni’s. I kept the layout and all the white space, but I used different images, different colors and made mine a Valentine instead of get well.
I stamped the jar, masking out the top, then stamped the heart flowers inside. After coloring with Copics, I added the ribbon like Doni did, but my greeting was smaller so I put it on a separate little strip and used a corner rounder on one end. I added some little rhinestones just ’cause I still get a little worried about all the white space 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by! Congrats again, Doni!
