It’s my pleasure to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC835) this week & we’re visiting Touch of Class & their Pinterest Board. THIS is the picture that inspired my card.
My southwest Christmas card is pretty easy to make. I die cut the sun out of pale yellow, the sandy hills out of tan, the mountains out of brown & the cactus out of a couple of shades of green. I sponged the edges to give them some depth then added the tiny Christmas lights to a couple of the cactus & used a gold gel pen to connect them. All of the scenery is attached to a pale grey bg.

For the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC833), we’re going to a wonderful Lighthouse Pinterest Board where I found THIS lovely picture.
For my southwest card, I started w/ a background I made quite a while ago. I thought the purples & oranges were good colors for a desert sunset scene. The bg was done by smooshing the Marvy metallic markers onto a rubber brayer, spritzing w/ water & rolling it over a piece of white card. If I remember correctly, I did it once w/ the yellow, orange & silver colors & again w/ the purples & silver. The hills & cactus plants were die cut out of a few shades of purple & I used part of the leftover orange areas for the cowgirl, cowboy & roadrunner. They were also popped up on foam to give them a little depth.

It’s my turn to host the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge (IC661) & I chose Brit+Co. I love their colorful displays & I chose the picture below for my inspiration.
To make my card, I stamped the different cactus plants, colored them & the large one had a matching die but the 2 smaller were fussy cut. I used an stitch arch die to cut the window opening & to make the frame around the opening. Then I put a piece of watercolor background behind it. The greeting was stamped on a stitched tag die cut & I used my die resizing technique to shorten the tag.
Here’s a look at the inside & below it are the Copics I used.
