For today’s Technique Challenge on Splitcoast (TLC413), the focus is on the dies. I think I have just the CAS (clean & simple) card that will fit. Turns out the only heart dies I have are these huge solid and LaRue heart from Memory Box. They pretty much take up the whole card so they have to be the focus. I thought they went well w/ this cute Love You More greeting from DRS Designs. I added a couple of little hearts from the Interlocking Hearts Background beside it.  I colored and cut out just the bloom from the Single Rose and attached it in the upper left. I used a pair of mini scallop scissors across the bottom of the red panel and attached it to my 4.25 x 5.50 card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Weekly-FavoriteA big CONGRATS to Lynn (aka allee’s), the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast (FS310)!! This is well deserved and a long time coming! Lynn is a big participant in the daily challenges and a gallery favorite. Y’all will love her big, fabulous gallery. For my card, I chose THIS wonderful card of Lynn’s to case.  I love the masked strip and silhouette image so I kept those. I changed the images, added a horizontal sponged line (because it looked like my little boy was sitting on top of the water) and added an extra layer. I rarely work on the card front…for me, that’s just asking for trouble. Yeah, like I need more trouble, lol.

The images are all from Our Daily Bread designs. The silhouette and greeting are new, from a set called Little Boys. The large cattails are from the With Heartfelt Sympathy set. To begin, I masked the sides and sky are of the strip and sponged ink from the blue rainbow ink pad. Then I removed the sky mask and placed it over the water and sponged in the sun and sky using the birthstone & desert heat rainbow ink pads. After removing all the masks, that’s when I discovered my little boy looked like he was sitting on the water, lol. So I masked the sky again and sponged a green horizontal line using the fresh greens ink pad. After adding the sentiment, lg cattails and black layer my 4.25 x 5.50 card was finished.

Congrats again, Lynn, enjoy your week!

    Happy Friday!

For today’s Free for All Challenge (F4A150), we are to make a frosty friendship card. And for the Queen for the Day Challenge (QFTD146), everyone is the queen and we are to pick a card of our own and case it.  I think my little winter forest scene fits the bill on both counts. I cased my card Summer Cranes and kept the same framed layout but made it a winter scene and changed the hot summer colors into cool winter shades.

The image is a sneak peek from DRS Designs. Since the scene is so complete all on its own, I decided to keep it simple and just let the image do the talking. I used two different rainbow ink pads to ink it up…first I used the varied greens, then tapped the bottom half against the varied blues. The moon/sun part was wiped off and I ink it w/ the black ink. I added a bit of shadowing and some color to the moon/sun using Copics.

The oval frames were die cut and I used the white pigment ink to stamp the sentiment and little stars across the top. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
