A big CONGRATS to Sue, the Featured Stamper (FS317) on Splitcoast! Can you believe how big and beautiful her gallery is? There are a lot of cards I picked to CASE but I kept coming back to this Snowflakes of Peace card. I didn’t even realize it was a CASE of a CASE until after I finished. But in any case, I think my CASE resembles Sue’s CASE much more closely. I loved it so much, I didn’t want to change anything so I kept the layout and similar colors, but I don’t have the images she used so I changed images, added a layer or two, a butterfly and made mine a birthday card.

The card is pretty Clean & Simple (CAS)…I stamped the medallion several times in the red, aqua and pear tart colors, then used different size circle dies to cut them out and mix match a couple of the centers. The big flourish was stamped on the layer underneath using the neptune ink and the two part sentiment was stamped in red. I added the sky blue layer and onto my 4.25 x 5.50 card. A few gems and a cut out butterfly finished it.

Congrats again, Sue! Enjoy your week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

    Happy Friday!

For today’s Free for All Challenge (F4A157), we are to make a silly or fun card for a man. I’ve always thought this quote was a fun and I know it will be perfect for my brother in law. The guy loves a good beer and probably even some not so good ones.  And since his birthday’s coming up I’m pretty sure a big mug of beer will get his attention.

The images are from DRS Designs. My clean and simple card was done on half of a note card. I liked the texture of the paper so I stamped the beer mug, drew a diamond shape around it and filled in w/ a black sharpie and added doodles. I saw this technique on the latest Technique Junkie newsletter, so I gave it try. I added the sentiment and little beer mug and a couple of Candi buttons, then doodles around the edges before attaching to my 5.50 x 4.25 card.

    Thanks so much for looking!

    BEST OF 2013 – CAS

A wonderful color combo today on the Color Challenge on Splitcoast (CC412). I need to use more often! And a sad farewell to Julia as a CC hostess 🙁 I tried to do a Clean & Classy card ala Julia, but not sure if I succeeded or not. I also used a sketch from a good while back that I hadn’t tried (SC336).

The images are from DRS Designs. I stamped the long berry branch and used a long rectangle die to cut it in sections so I could stamp the sentiment in between. It looked a bit plain so I used an embossing border down the other side. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
